It's not he's not good enough, we don't play the way to get the best out of him. If we are going to hit long balls then we may aswell put him on the bench. We need to get forward and work around him and give him the ball in the box. I honestly don't think it's the forwards fault we need to get the midfield 15 yards further forward so the front 2 aren't isolated and we can get hold of the game and dominate it especially against the teams around us
This. It could only happen at Palace. They're fouling our keeper of all people but the ref laps up everything the crowd say and he ends up kicking out. How much was he supposed to take? It's a ****ing joke that the rules say diving and cheating are OK but kicking out gently at someone carries the maximum punishment. Yet when Jedinak does it it's not even a yellow. Same. I hate them so ****ing much. I briefly didn't hate them for a short spell but now I fully hate them with a passion again. How can they be so lucky so often? How many teams have faced an outfielder in goal this season? How many teams score a winning goal immediately after escaping two penalty shouts? People go on about the big clubs but Palace are the worst. What the **** does Pulis do to get refs so far on his side? It was the same when he was at Stoke.

I wonder when Steve Bruce will realise that Meyler is so lightweight and slow and that he is never going to be up to Premiership quality. He is weak on the ball and sloppy with his passing.Talking about sloppy passing ...........tippy tapping the ball around in our own half is frought with danger and just gives the opposition time to organise themselves,Thudd is as guilty as most.We need a schemer behind the front two who has a bit of vision Thudd is too defensive most of the time. Again I feel Steve Bruce got his starting 11 and tactics wrong .
we are way to reliant on elmo down that right flank who's crossing Lot of the time is very poor we desperately need Brady back to give us some balance also aluko in place of meyler
bruce: "We're hugely disappointed. I got fined two weeks ago and I don't want to [be fined] again but we had two stonewall penalties in the first half and to send the goalkeeper off summed up the night. It was innocuous. "We played well, Palace didn't create a chance but we go home with nothing. "People will work it out, Jelavic is pulled down for one penalty and Long is clattered for the second. If they aren't penalties I don't know what are. These are big games and big decisions." "Referees are paid handsomely to make big calls and he [Roger East] hasn't done that today. To send the goalkeeper off, we are scratching our heads. It's a horrible challenge on him, yes he's reacted but if anything it's a yellow. He hasn't turned around and whacked him. "I go away and pay fines and I'll probably get another one but I only speak the truth. It's time for the referee to come out and face the cameras. When penalties are as blatant as that we have to be aggrieved."
Nice to see he's happy to voice out against Premier League officials even if it means paying fines all the time. He's brilliant is Bruce. Referees should come out and explain why (or why not) a decision was(n't) given. It seems as though they're untouchable and constantly being body-guarded by the F.A.
The only hope I have for Spurs is that we play much better against teams that actually try to attack us and with Brady back it should be much better in terms of creativity. We need a left back though as we are stuck playing a formation that isn't working and Bruce has obviously lost confidence in figs like the rest of us. Losing Greegsy is a problem and he shouldn't have done it but the ref was so **** I can't put into words and didn't attempt to sort out the problem of the palace team assaulting him throughout the game. Stonewall pen and numerous fouls throughout the game ignored, particularly from Jedinak who plays his role brilliantly. Palace are very poor but played their game plan well and we just couldn't create anything, Brady and Aluko are needed more than anything and Thudd and Jake need to sort themselves out and get stuck in when the going gets tough. After the clear pen shout we were not the same. It was the same against Norwich, starting very well but not getting anything and the Chester injury broke our rhythm. Playing Bruce and Mchane in a back 3 is terrible, they can't play football. Rosie was done over by Bolasie but he had nobody capable inside him to help. We need to change it up and get stuck in, create chances and then take them. I though Jelavic and Long were promising. Jela is a finisher and we need to create things for him, his positioning is very good. Long was very positive and put himself around as well as looking skillful. It is always going to be difficult when we have Thudd and Livs sat back out of the game, with no link between midfield and attack, then elmo who can't take on a man and just tries to cross from the half way line. Ref was terrible. We were terrible. Palace are poor but well organised. Must be better.
I'd have spent that silly amount of money on someone who can really create a chance and let our then current forwards who can score goals thrive off the chances. Aluko is soon back, he's better than long, Sagbo's got a shot on him and offers pace, strength and great hold up play also, Fryatt finds gaps, is nimble footed and knows where the net is. Meanwhile we were offering those strikers an average of one decent chance a month. Te strikers wernt the problem, getting the ball in to dangerous positions is our problem.
As I said, a carbon copy of the game at the KC. Should we come away with a point, people will have said we played well and were unlucky. Palace had a game plan and it worked. We seemed to lack a little luck today (Quinn's, Livermore's, Hudd's freekick, Penalty(s)) while Palace had a lot of luck. On another day, we would have won comfortably.
But Long will take Alukos forward position unless Jelavic carries on trying to beat Ade Akinbiyis tremendous record and we see Aluko and Long up front.
I'm thinking 4-2-3-1 ------------Greegs------------- --Rosie-Chester-Davies-NEW LB- ---------Thudd--Livs----------- ----Long----Aluko----Brady----- -------------Jela---------------
Meyler isn't good enough. Simple as. I'd give him, Quinn and Koren for Jedinak, in fact I'd throw Bruce in as well. Big dirty bastard who is invaluable in games like tonight. Can play a bit as well.
