    Never understand that. hope BR gives Gerrard a bollocking at FT for that. We have a set penalty taker for a reason... because he's the best penalty taker. Don't go passing it around for sentimental reasons.

    He took one against Swansea. Gerrard had already scored one and I think everyone felt he deserved a chance to score from the spot after his performance that day.

    It was a modern day one where the player deliberates doesn't try and hurdle the keeper so allows them to make contact by "leaving their leg there".

    It's a pen and it's stupid from the keeper because he doesn't need to come rushing out and he's forcing the ref into making a decision, much like Guzan did when he clipped Suarez.
