So, will Debuchy play tonight? That will be a clear early signal about his view of the club following Cabaye's departure.

Also, it's been mentioned somewhere that Gouf is injured. So with Cabs missing, how will Pards shape things up tonight?

I hope he goes for something like:

    ......................Krul

    Debuchy...Saylor...Iron Mike...Haidara

    ................Tiote....Anita

    Sissoko...........HBA............Santon

    .....................Remy

With Santon & Sissoko swapping wings at times to mix things up and allowing Benni a 'free role' in the no. 10 position.

Clearly our best formation, and with no Cisse it's unlikely we'll see 2 up top to begin. No, I think the shackles are off Ben Arfa tonight and it's going to a fcking huge game for him - he'll have been told "now the main man has gone, there's a vacancy - go fill it".

I honestly think how he plays will determine what we do with the rest of the transfer window! If he's blows hot and cold again, it'll be all out for Grenier, Matuidi, Capoue or S De Jong. If he does well or better, I think we'll be less panicked. I don't know how I'd feel about that!

Have to say 'plastic jedi', I would feel a lot more confident with my line up for you, especially with the bench <whistle>

Krul, Debuchy, Willo, Taylor, Santon, Tiote, Anita, Sissoko, Ben Arfa, SAMMY, Remy.

    Can't believe Sammy is starting.

I really want to see Sissoko inside as an AM in the Toure role. Ben Arfa's ok on the wings, and he's going to end up being crowded out if he plays number 10 tonight. Sissoko has a bit more presence, but I think your team will be how Pardew starts tonight...

Armstrong on the bench with Elliott, Mbiwa, Haidara, Shola, Gosling, Dummett.

4-3-3 so I'm guessing Sammy left, Sissoko right and Ben Arfa number 10. Unsure about Sammy but have a feeling Ben Arfa is going to turn it on tonight. He thrives under pressure.

I'd have preferred Mbiwa of Taylor too.

Judging by who is on the bench, I can understand why he's picked Sammy.
A chance for him to shine and the only way we'll ever know if he's good enough or not is by playing him.
I hope he has a good game and proves his doubters wrong.

Agreed, but it certainly shows how strong we'd be if we got Grenier and Cabella if they're as good as being reported. I think we'll have a siege mentality about us tonight and fancy us to win.

nufc.co.uk reckons Benni and Sammy are flanking Remy, with Sissoko playing in behind (Cabaye role). Sammy is definitely the odd choice, but I guess we haven't got much else to play there in a 4-3-3. Don't think Pardew likes the idea of playing both Santon and Haidara.

Right, let's begin life without Cabaye. Looking forward to the game - I hope Ben Arfa decides to take up the challenge of filling Cabaye's boots and performs at the level we know he can. The concern will be HBA infront of Debuchy - it's looked scarily open down our right with that combo in previous games.

I'm hoping we see Armstrong get a run out today too.

I do think it is long overdue that Santon gets a crack at that left wing. His dribbling forward from defence is always very smooth and threatening. If he learns to shoot he could become a cracking winger who also knows a thing or two about defending and tracking back. Could be a real asset

Is Marveux officially out of the door? I would have thought that with our season effectively over and a free position in the team now would be the time for players like HBA and Marveux to be given the chance to fight for a spot.

We are properly battering them. Guess we're bound to lose now and have an influx of people saying we'll never win without Cabaye despite have not watched the game. On the basis of this first half hour we'll do just fine.

    0-0 draw or 1-0 loss.

Sorry for the pessimism but it looks like one of those games where we couldn't actually get the ball into the net if we took pot shots at it from now til the morning :(
