Good bit off business imo , the board /manager know his history & this gives them time to assess him to see whether he's worth a longer deal .

Yea, lets see what he can do before any decisions are made about him by us.
Has to be better than Itay and Alvaro

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ngog is utter cack... How can you guys not have seen him play before?!! I mean, I assume you must not have seen him play to be giving him a chance to impress you... I am very sure Bolton fans aren't crying about this!

Here's some homework, look up his stats and provide me with a 50 word report on why he deserves ANOTHER crack at this level! One of the worst forwards I've seen in the premier league, and he's not much better at championship level either... What on Earth is going on?

Hopefully he sees no game-time and sexy Michu gets back soon! What a horrible day for my clubs. Newcastle lose Cabaye, and Swansea sign Ngog... Ughhhhh... Awful.

We are very good at resurrecting the dead, our scouts must have seen some life in him.

Woaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Eh no... I loved him at our club. Hughton's tactics were fairly drab until we signed Routledge, what a canny little player. Technique, skill, pace. You'll not find a comment from me to the contrary.

NGog most definitely does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Routledge. I think putting him in the same sentence as another mammal would be offensive to be honest. The guy is clearly a massive fish out of water.

There was a time when we would bev. extremely happy to have a player of his quality signing for us no matter what other fans say , we are adopting a plastic fan attitude of late IMO .

The sooner we come back down to earth the better then we can start backing the players and giving them some confidence and love on the field,it's very often what makes a difference with these types of signings.

Remember we are Swansea not Barcelona ,this type of player is our bread and butter,we take them, improve them and polish them up that's what we have built our success on,bony is the exception not the rule, big signings isn't what we will ever do at this club, time for some of our fans to start realizing this!

N gog will do just fine same as all the other big team cast off s like ash,Taylor,Leon,Tate, monk, routs dyer , shelvey, gower, pratley, etc,etc

Laudrup agreed to the signing so that's good enough for me ;)

We know we haven't got the most gifted players but what does make us competitive is what the players do as a collective ,we're fully aware of Ngogs' record but give the lad a chance and judge him for what he does for us before the moaners have they chance to destroy what little confidence he may have left

I was also gonna mention Routledge. I would have been very nervous if he'd been our target to really make a difference, but he's played some of the best football of his career with us. I hope David N'Gog does the same.

    croeso!

I think it'd be harsh to say not wanting Ngog is in line with a plastic attitude, because quite simply, he's not shown any ability at any club he's previously been at. The same is not true of the the other chaps you mention.

Honestly, Newcastle have striker problems... But I'd take Shola every day of the week over Ngog!

I really can't see this panning out with Ngog being at Swansea for any decent length of time though, so hopefully he's simply a dirt cheap bench-filler and used as a counter-attacker in the last few minutes of games. He has some pace at least!

I hope this works out, but I'm just doubly disappointed really. Newcastle get potentially one loan signing and lose a good player, and Swansea sign nobody to improve their first team <wah>

Really? Well if all the others I mentioned showed ability at those clubs why were they released?

Truth is nobody knows how well the boy will do but to put a downer on him before he has even kicked a ball is not very fair IMO .

Is Danny Graham a good player? If you ask Sunderland and hull fans they will say he is ****e, if you ask most jacks, they were sorry to see him go as he scored plenty of goals and made plenty also.

Right player for the right team is what we sometimes forget when looking at stats .

For the deal we have n gog on we really have no right to be even dissapointed! If it works out great if not he is off in the summer,it's a win win for everyone.

Let's also remember we are looking for a back up player not a star signing, the options out there for that kind of player are limited,he could have sat on his wages up at Bolton instead of testing himself and trying to prove he is worth a deal so respect to him just for that ;)

As the Hobbit has stated very well, we have a habit of resurecting players, so our scouts must have seen something in him, though saying that what the hell they saw in Shecter and Alvaro is beyond me, must have had a few too many beers!..................<laugh>

I have no idea why Routledge was sold to you guys. I wasn't alone in wondering why the hell we sold him. Genuinely, he was one of my favourite players at the club, he gave us an added dimension when he arrived here because he was pretty much an old fashioned winger, and we'd been left with wide players who had no pace. So he was hardly undiscovered when he joined Swansea... Shelvey was also thought of highly by a few Liverpool fans. His finishing whilst there was pretty shocking, but his general ability has never been in question.

Of the others, you have a list of genuinely talented players at youth level, cast aside by big clubs (through a mixture of poor fortune and poor management), only to prove their talent and work their way back up the pyramid. Ngog is almost exactly the opposite of this! He was ultimately lucky that, following like 20 appearances for PSG as a youngster, and scoring 1 solitary goal, Rafa Benitez (the guy who wasted an absolute fortune on a lot of over-rated garbage at Liverpool) picked him up and, despite proving himself not good enough at premier league level, he got signed by a desperate Bolton side... Who consequently got relegated because the guy can't score a goal to save himself! Now, having scored 4 goals in the Championship, he's somehow got himself another crack at the big time?!?!

I very much like your optimism... but I think you should appreciate my frustration that Swansea have signed someone like this, when with all the various comps, you need good depth. Not just more players, but good quality players. I won't be wasting my money betting on Ngog getting a goal in the next game anyway, even if the odds will be astronomical <laugh>
