Actually it's not true is it? I'm talking ****. The sell-on clause still applies if Forest sign him, so either way we'd get 10% less than the fee paid. So it wouldn't cost you any more (it'd make no difference to us) but you would be paying less than Forest would (but you'd also lose the 10% you would have got by letting Foresy get him if you sign him). God it's hard to get your head round this.
You watch Leicester come up and Hobbs be a beast next season. Can definitely see him going there, in fact I'm surprised he's not there already. Wish we'd bloody keep him, we haven't even given him a chance at this level, the lads a brick wall in defence I'm sure he'd be capable. Oh well, Bruceys call and he knows best.
That doesn't wash with me. He's no slower than Bruce or Faye and he certainly isn't as bad on the ball as either of them.
Either way Brucey has decided he's not good enough for The Prem so he's on his way to anyone of four clubs now that apparently want him.
Given the choice I can't see why he'd not go to Leicester. Top of the league, manager he's played for before and seemed to get on with, not too far to go, familiar location, best chance of PL football again next year.
Faye is(though an ageing one), McShane can be(if he's not feeling kamikaze) and Bruce can be(as long as he just blocks stuff), we don't want four 'only justs'.
I agree he's an only just, but I think he's better than any of those 3. He and Chester were by far our best CBs in the Championship, and two of our best players overall in fact. I think he would have been 3rd choice after Chester and Davies this season but he asked to go out somewhere to be 1st choice.
Faye, Bruce and Hobbs are all out of contract in the summer and Hobbs is the only one we'll get any money for, as there's not a massive amount between them, I think letting him go is decent business.
Personally on the basis we stay up and push on again a right sided centre half should be on the Summer Shopping List. Brucey Junior for me is a better defensive midfielder, and Faye...shame he's not a few years younger. For me Davies and Chester are the current 'nailed on' central defenders albeit Chester for me has not played to his usual high standards in recent weeks. Macca for me is good defender but his distribution generally not good enough; he's surpassed my expectations when played over the last 18 months..
