We have had one prodigal son return, lap up the adulation from the spectators and give his all. What better tonic than to have Adel Taarabt back tearing up the opposition at the crucial run in. So I say; Harry bury the hatchet; and get Wally Downes (a straight talker judging by his Tweets) to mentor our troubled genius with some tough love. Better than a new signing....
He will never come back with Redknapp here. The only way he comes back is if we dont go up or redknapp retires in the summer. The fans would accept him, Redknapp wont.
Nah, Adel is a lazy fat **** with no commitment or desire. We have had the best of him, enjoy the memories
I don't think adel will fit in with the new QPR so rather than change mid stream, keep what we have, maybe add another striker, but please don't change for adel
Similar sentiments were voiced about Joey Barton - the door's never closed. Just imagine the reaction when his name is called out. I wonder whether this is one of those moments where Tony Fernandes needs to step in; never mind the positive impact on the team's creativity (that we have all cried out for) - imagine the marketing potential too. A win-win situation for me. We need a good ' Taarabt's too good for you' chant back again.
So who gets dropped for his return? I assume it would be Krancjar as they are more like for like generally...more so than any other midfielder we have. Is Adel's recent form any better than Kranky's? Kranky started off slow but is getting better each match. He's making more of an impact...not for the full 90mins but then Adel was never really a 90min player either. Personally I'd rather stick to what we have in that position and concentrate in getting players for other positions that really need it.
Adel Taraabt will never reach the heights he did with us previously in the Championship. I cannot wait till he's properly sold so we don't have to speak about including him in the side again.
For me, it's different with Taarabt when compared to Barton. Barton was an embarrassment in terms of his behaviour but his effort and commitment to the game was never questioned. With Taarabt, he didn't turn up to training on time, if at all, and also played in such a way that was not team friendly. Bringing Barton back was less of a risk, especially seeing as it's the championship and I somehow feel Barton is less likely to flare up in this league. Anything could go wrong with Taarabt, though. He could not turn up to training again, cause unrest in the team, or even play and give away the ball or not track back in important moments. I like Taarabt in some ways and I think he has so much ability and could be a brilliant player. But I've never seen such a **** attitude in football. If he is going to be anything like he was just before he left us then I don't want him anywhere near the team. Sadly, the only Mark Hughes did was get him to be a more complete player, including tracking back and getting stuck in. But that seems to have come and gone and he's back to nonsense. In short, no thanks, unless he really changes his attitude from the moment he gets the bus back to us.
Id have him back in less than a heartbeat. It's Harry's job to manage him, so let's see Harry earn his wages. If he trains hard he plays, if he doesn't, then he sits in the bench. Adel has had a miserable time in the Prem, much of which is his own fault but he has a proven record at this level. It's a no-brainer for me.
Whatever about on-field comparisons (and I'm not sure he's any better than Kranjcar at the moment - or slimmer), his problem attitude and lack of team ethics would have a detrimental effect on the squad. His good season was under an entirely different system where the whole team was built around him and he was indulged by everyone at the Club. In a "team", IE where he's just one cog in a machine, he doesn't work. The players would soon get tired of his moaning and losing the ball every time he receives it by trying something stupid, whether on the training ground or on match days and it'd soon lead to confrontation and disharmony. Redknapp seen all this at the start of the season and that's why he got rid. That and the fact that the player wanted to leave himself. No, not for us right now. Nor ever again in fact.
This in a nutshell. If Taarabt plays in the team then everything has to revolve around him. He can't play in any conventional positions and do a job for the team when needed. I can't agree with this Redknapp has to manage him garbage, he made the clear and correct decision by getting rid of him. The team look happier, and our progression more sustainable.
If no deals for attacking players are going to materialise in this window then I would say we need to take a risk and bring him back. Right now I just don't think we have enough up front to get over the line and will be overtaken by at least one of the several teams in the mix who are scoring freely. As we know, Taarabt is a match winner when he wants to be and could make all the difference. The risks to morale are equally clear of course but that's why Redknapp is being paid a top manager's salary.
100% agree SKU No player is bigger than any club but I believe in this player ... switched on he is brilliant
Sorry, but those calling for his return really have lost the plot. As for it being Harry's job to manage him, he did and Adel took the piss when we needed his talent the most. Get real, he's history...
How do we get to that Adel was the cause of the morale trouble? Harold didn't do his job by keeping us up and wiggled out of all blame Yes we are 2nd at the moment but if we fail to go up then sorry he gets sacked imo for everything he has done I am sorry and with Flyer 100% Harold is a poor manager IMO He is a celebrity We have a crisis upfront all of Harold's making ... we have Adel Taarabt who could score in this division what 10 goals to get us up ... where are we looking ... France and Italy in January That to me is disgraceful for our club ... Honestly how fans eat this crap I know not ... Chevanton and The Yank not even given a chance, Taarabt maybe never allowed back ... Cesar And fans accept this? because it's Harry ... Noticed that all he says today is how tight its going to be etc etc .... Get Taarabt back with Austin ... this team could carry Adel's small failings as a player ... just tell him to express himself and we will win most of our games left
A team that struggles to score goals has the chance of a front 3 of Austin, Philips and Taarabt. No brainer. It's H's job to make it work.
