Peters was well known around Yarmouth after he finished at Carrow Rd as he worked for Jimmy Jones in leisure industry. Jimmy unfortunately was a big pal of Chase and got tarred with the same brush. Peters was a truly great and classy player. Alf Ramsey I think said"10 yrs ahead of his time" If Rooney is worth £300K a week what would Peters be worth?
I remember watching Billy play for City. I met him a few times when he managed a sports shop in Cromer. It was owned by John Culyer who used to have a few sports shops around Norfolk. I don't know if this was before or after he went to the Ironmongers. He was always very friendly and a good Guy.
