Remy is 1.85 m so not exactly small, but he's an Henry type player, not an out and out striker. IMO if we play De Jong up Top with Remy supporting I'm happy with that. Anita can go right into CM alongside Tiote. Clearly getting De Jong in will negate some of the blow from losing Cabaye.

I'd still like to see a midfielder come in, given that Cabella won't arrive until summer.

given that he has played a total of 93 minutes all season, its unlikely he'll be match fit so a loan move might be the best deal for him and us.

This for sure. Siem is the most Cabaye-esque player we've been linked with, right down to being an on-field leader. Top signing that could/would be. Cabella does seem to be the replacement for Jonas and/or Obertan's inevitable departure. Rather have Ferguson than Gabby.

Not too sure if Luuk de Jong will be a success or not but his stats from his stint in Germany are not as bad as they first appear. Doom mongers keep citing 9 goals in 47 games but I think it is more helpful to say that this season he has 1 goal in 87 minutes of sub appearances. Last season he scored 6 goals in 23 league appearances in an injury disrupted first year in a new country. I don't know how many of those 23 appearances were from the bench, but it does not make as bad reading when placed alongside his 39 goals in 76 league appearances for Twente.

I feel slightly more hopeful about him now.
