Liverpool are rumoured to be lining up a transfer for Benfica's promising midfielder Andre Gomes, perhaps with an eye on the future with Steven Gerrard in his 30s and Lucas' history of injury. The 20-year-old's chances have been limited in the first team with Nemanja Matic blocking his path before joining Chelsea, while the fee of £12.4m being discussed seems a lot for a player who has yet to play regularly.
