yep Football fans are the most fickle bunch around But that's because everything in football can change in an instant
Its always been so. This is a sketch from a 50's comedian I love Al Reed. Keep listening to the terrace fan. Its sums all football fans up a treat. Lol
Ah the old you've proved your point well but your sad for going to so much effort comment. Wasn't difficult, went to the threads on the date of the first game of the season, took all of 5 seconds
Big differences between the Cabaye situation and the Bardsley one: Cabaye REFUSED to play to try to engineer a move Bardsley wanted to play but was picked on by the then manager Cabaye was welcomed back with open arms It took a lot of us ( me included) until the United game to forgive Bardsley Cabaye is leaving Bardsley is getting a new contract
I personally think Bardsley's is worse. If you ran a small business and one of your employees went awol for a day you'd dock their wages and have a word. If someone laughed in your face when a business deal didn't go through or your company lost a lot of money etc, for all of your other employees and customers to see you'd clearly fire them. Neither act is commendable, both players acted extremely badly. I'll go back to my original point in that cabaye is/was our best player. He's been the best midfielder in the league this season bar Toure for goals & assists. Of course we were going to forgive him if he rolled his socks up and performed (which he did). Biggest difference between Cabaye and Bardsley is that we're getting over 20m for Cabaye which could buy us 11 Phil Bardsley's.
Seems that bardleys twatting happened after the fulham game, and considering the way PDC and therefore SAFC by inference had treated him..as an outcast never to play for them again..then maybe his response at the time to a very embarassing defeat ..i.e the hahahaha as understandable, maybe not wise but who of us would not feel the same way in similar circumstances. At least Bards turned the corner and is fighting for his place and our respect, and for me he's winning that hands down.
He was always going to go - I stopped Remy from scoring by picking him in my fantasy football team - I forced Cabaye out of the side by doing the same!! I'm just going to keep putting your players in and you'll eventually either sell them all or get relegated!!
Surely you wouldn't wish that on us? From our point of view I'm gutted that we've lost the lad and really doub't we'll get a replacement so just hoping Ben Arfa can finally begin to fulfill his potential.
Will someone please delete this thread Bardsley has served his punishment and responded to it by being player of the season along with brown and Ki
While I agree with you that Barnsley has worked hard to redeem himself to me and many others, this thread is exactly why we have forums to debate these things, why delete it?
It was me that wrote this title back in August. It looks like it was thread merged and now my original post has been deleted??? This is why thread merging gets on my T!ts!! Getting back to Bardo, at the time I wrote this he was a c@#t for mocking us the way he did. I can see now he was getting at PDC, but to use the club that pays him and the fans that support the club as bait was shocking. The way he's come back and played has shown him redemption but he was still out of order back then!
Why delete something that documents the events and our feelings at the beginning of this season? Warning Nazi comparison coming up. Its like the Germans, they voted Hitler in, then at the end they didn't like him. It would be wrong to completely to 'burn the books' and remove this chapter of history, however bad it was.
