If Mata is wearing 8 - who have we got lined up for the 7 shirt ?

It does beg the question why he didn't get the 7 shirt - is it perhaps because that has already been sorted for the Summer, and if so, who might that be ?

It's certainly not going to be Ronaldo. Well, perhaps the fat one will come out of retirement. Either that or Beckham's coming back. That'd be good.

Great shout. Short of CR7 coming back I think Januzaj is the best option for the number 7 provided he can handle the pressure of lifting the curse of from its last two owners. 7 is a special number at United and giving him the added responsibily will hopefully make him commit to United long term. The last young player we had that was this talented thrived under the pressure of wearing number 7, hopefully Januzaj can too.

 

I think if Mata wanted number 7 he would have got it, he just obviously prefers number 8. It's no big deal to me what number he has though

 

I expect him to wear it at the start of next season. After the last 2 to wear it it needs a special talent to bring back the shine.

 

Mata is taking Anderson shirt?? He is going to have to eat a lot to fit in

 

Although Anderson never wore it enough for it to stretch out too much.
