To be honest, of course Watford fans are going to be somewhat defensive. We had to put up with this 2 years ago when Brendan was touted for the Reading job. He came out saying the links with Reading were questioning his integrity. A few days later Reading approach, in which we reject, then he throws his toys out of his pram and we managed to negotiate a very good deal for the club!
We are realstic and know we're not the most attractive of outfits about at the moment, but just feels like deja-vu (without the comments). It just makes you wonder how Cardiff are so confident Malky wants to join if no 'official' approach has been made - so has Malky (or his agent) agreed that he would go.... If there has been, then of course we will fight our corner!
Most clubs have had this situation where a more 'attractive' offer comes in and they want to go - it's how the manager goes about their business whether they are cheered upon their return, or labelled a 'judas'. if he goes, we just hope we can clap him when he returns to the Vic![]()
fair points, i cant argue with any of that

what i would say is that if MM does want to leave, then in this day and age he will get his move. he would be worth £500k yes, but as you said if you do get that money, your budget is £10m so that would add 5% to it - not to be sniffed at when your in financial trouble, we would know that more than most.
