Bridcutt and Buckley? I really don't know matey. Would like to see bridcutt in and Gardner out, problem with Buckley is that he's a RW/RM so AJ will be Infront of him in the pecking order(rightly so), is Buckley better than our young karlson (spelling?)
He just finds stuff to do with Sunderland on the internet and posts it to twitter. https://twitter.com/SAFCsource
A few of his goals at AEK - some cracking goals there.
I reckon at least Bridcutt will arrive, hopefully Buckley too - but with Larsson going the other way. Gardner may also leave, but think he gives more of a **** than Seb which may see him stay on - although he needs to buck his game up.
SUNDERLAND are edging closer to the signing of exciting Argentinian attacker Ignacio Scocco. The Black Cats have held their nerve in their long-term pursuit of the the 28-year-old, who is ready to leave Brazilian side Internacional barely six months after turning down Sao Paolo to join them. But that patience looks set to pay off, with the arrival of the versatile frontman expected at the Stadium of Light this week. There have been strong rumours that Cardiff City were ready to match the Black Cats’ bid to sign a player capable of playing on either wing, as an attacking midfielder or as a striker. But Cardiff’s interest has never fully materialised and if the Welsh club did make an inquiry, it does not appear to have been strongly followed up despite claims from South America. Scocco’s father, Hector, suggested Cardiff might have joined Sunderland in the bidding for a player Gus Poyet has long admired. Hector Snr also revealed in a radio interview: “It’s not that Scocco doesn’t like Brazilian football, his problem is that he didn’t have motivation to keep playing for Internacional, nothing else. “The problem is with Internacional, not with the Brazilian clubs.” But Sunderland are now in clear pole position to sign the player, although, as in any deal, particularly the complicated South American ones, there is still scope for the move breaking down. Sunderland have no intention of counting their chickens before they hatch and head coach Gus Poyet has refused to be drawn publicly on Scocco over the last few days. But behind the scenes, Sunderland are more confident now than they have been previously that the free-scoring frontman could be on his way to the Stadium of Light to massively improve their attacking options. The 5ft 8in Scocco potentially offers the complete package, combining shooting accuracy with good technical skills and has scored goals wherever he has played, although it would remain to be seen how quickly he would adjust to the demands of the Premier League. If he does join, he would certainly excite Sunderland fans. He would also be the fourth signing made by Gus Poyet in the January transfer window – joining fellow Argentinians Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini, and on-loan Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso. Sunderland remain in the chase, meanwhile, for Brighton defensive midfielder Liam Bridcutt and Valencia playmaker Ever Banega, another Argentinian. (The echo)
Sunderland look set to raid the South American market for Argentine winger Ignacio Scocco, with reports in Brazil suggesting that a transfer may be finalised today. Internacional are prepared to sell but Zero Hora claims that the only obstacle is that they still owe Scocco’s former club Newell’s Old Boys money and would like Sunderland to pay it off. Maybe we will pay it off but will that be a stumbling block
I actually watched that twice as I thought he had miss hit a couple of shots. But he is actually kicking through the side of the ball and still getting power, pretty impressive.
Sunderland and Cardiff City’s attempts to sign striker Ignacio Scocco from Brazilian club Internacional have reportedly been held up by a complication over money owed to his previous club. Reports in Brazil claim the highly-rated Argentine forward has agreed to move to the Premier League, with the Black Cats believed to be in pole position to secure his services.
3 minutes ago Liam Bridcutt to Sunderland very close. We've recently heard that Whickham could go in the other direction as part of the deal.
Shouldn't be an issue, agree fee, and whatever is owed to Newells goes there, rest to Internacional. Funny, didn't the Inter president say the other day it was all paid up? Dodgy ****er. EDIT Just had a text saying he has SIGNED. Just checking up.
@SAFCsource Inter's DOF: Scocco is a player who everyone knows that will not stay in International and we are in a process of negotiation. @SAFCsource Inter's DOF: We expect to complete this transaction as soon as possible. @SAFCsource Nacho Scocco will cost Sunderland in the region of £4m
