    Hernandez is a good impact/supersub player like Solksjaer was but give him the full game and he's ordinary.

  2. They are different types of player so surely it depends on what the team requires?

    Rooney is a better partner for RvP. Sturridge is a better partner for Suarez.

    While Sturridge has missed more games he also has more goals too and scored in almost every game he's played.

    This season Rooney has been good but lets face it Sturridge has been more effective. That's the bottom line. Yeah Rooney offers more in other areas for sure but are they even remotely the same player type or remotely doing the same job? No is the short answer.

    Sturridge is much better at taking people on and working a shot. Rooney much more involved in the oppositions half.

    If you choose to use the word striker and so goals become the be all and end all for a striker then obviously Sturridge is doing better.

    ... rather an insular debate methinks ... currently neither is in the same league as Suarez or Aguerro ... which indirectly, yet somewhat depressingly, sums up our prospects for Brazil in the summer <laugh>

    Sturridge is a very good player, but he is knowere near as good as Rooney. I'd much prefer to have Sturridge instead of Welbeck though. Welbeck is like a rabbit in headlights every time he gets a sight of goal :biggrin:

    Rooney hasn't been playing as an out and out striker, he's been playing in the hole, so you can't compare him to Aguero and Suarez. If Rooney plays as a number 9 he will get 25+ goals a season as he has done in the past :biggrin:

    Rooney is approx 5x the player Sturridge is - and I'm actually a big fan of Sturridge!

    While I see your point 5x is just a silly overstatement. Sturridge has more goals, scored in more games. Doesn't take penos either.

    So while we can all see Rooney has a more complete game and does more in other areas, Sturridge is currently a better goal getter. The stats don't lie.

    Sturridge has goals, Rooney is the reason United aren't a lot lower than they currently are.

    First of all, Sturridge scored 8 out of our first 9 games. Suarez was missing for the first 5 games, so I think it would be fair to say that without Sturridge we may have been below United possibly.

    I am not a fan of the "where a team would be" argument. A striker can score a hattrick and play a blinder and yet lose 4 3 because of bad defending. That argument carries no weight Drogs, the mancs tried that already in the RvP Suarez argument when the stats showed Suarez was doing much better.

    Someone had to didnt they hahahahaha

    Rooney = World Class
    Sturridge = Premier League Standard

    Rooney is a vastly superior footballer, striker.... I cant be arsed to list everything that Rooney is better at because theres not enough space on the internet.

    Poor argument.

    Sturridge has scored in more games, scored more goals. I fail to see how someone who scored less goals and scored in less games is better at being a striker.

    Stick Rooney in the number 9 position and he'll also score goals for fun. Sturridge has had a very good season, but he's nowhere near Rooney's ability.

    Because Rooneys not being played as a striker.

    When he dos, Sturridge can only dream of having a season like Rooney.

    There is no argument, Rooney is the better player and th better striker without a shadow of doubt. There isnt a person alive who thinks otherwise.

    I'd expect Sturridge would collapse in a heap laughing his arse off at the thought someone thought he was better than Rooney <laugh>
