But if that is the general view then I will withdraw That is the first time this season that I have een able to watch us and I can see why we,are struggling and will need to rely on others to save us from the drop YES WE WERE AGAINST A FAR MORE SUPERIOUR SIDE BUT 1 Our passing is sloppy 2 We lack enthusiasm and urgency and penetration 3 We do not press in midfield 4 Towards the end when Chelsea were attacking several of us were standing around 5 Nzonzi plays at training pace 6 We turn "attack" into defence 2mins to go we get a throw in by their corner and it ends up going back to Bego 7 Hughes's post match interviews are becoming as embarrassing as TP's To say we were always in the game says it all But for the woodwork Shawx Bego and Chelsea's poor finishing we would have been mullered Perhaps we need to shake PC up to make him realse Hughes will take us down APOLOGIES again for the rant but apart from hating us losing I hate us not even performing SiS
SIS spot on mate and I could not have put it better myself. I thought we were garbage again today. Ok we were up against a top club with class players, but Hughes is trying to create a passing team with players that can't actually pass. To see Shotton on the subs benh also makes me want to weep and spells out the lack of progression we have made. Why walters starts over adam is beyond me as he was the only one again in the little time he had that looked like he wanted to have a go. Why sign Guidetti if he is not going to play him??? Hughes is fastly turning into Pulis as you rightly state!
SIS,I 100% agree with everything you have said. You have put`in a nutshell` everything I feel. Watching them is torture. I think Arnautovic is diabolical,Palacios is just rubbish, infact apart from Shawcross ,Begovic and I thought Crouch tried his best, the rest were `pants`. I couldn`t believe Hughes on P&G when he said he thought we did quite well, and that fact alone really depresses me because I`d like to know how poorly we have to be before he will say so. If he thought that performance was ok then it`s no wonder these players are happy to carry on as they are. Sorry lads but I feel we are definately fot the drop, I can`t see how they are going to lift themselves up.
Feeling rather despondent too. I know we are in a period of transition but Hughes seems a bit clueless. Why bring on Muniesa? What's occurring with Walters - he didn't seem to complete 1 pass. To say after the game that remained 'in it' was insulting to anyone who watched it. Shawcross did play well, as did Begovic and Crouch did ok too. Can't bare to think about where we'll gather some more points from. Not negative, by the way SIS, just balanced and rightly concerned.
Don't think it's negative SiS, you have just highlighted some key fundamental issues. I'm not going to get too bogged down on this game but in principle your points reflect a lot of our football this season. It's not an excuse (because there is no such thing in football) but he would have been slated if he had continued to play in the same vain as before and yet he is potentially doomed to try and play differently with the original players. Not sure what to think?
I was disappointed with today's game. Palacios isn't good enough, and N'Zonzi gets more and more frustrating every match. Assaidi should have been on earlier, Guidetti should have been bought on, and I don't know why we bought Munesia on. All in all, a rather gutless performance, only a few players seemed up for it, and some poor decisions from MH.
It's not negative at all SIS As Smithers say's Hughes is trying to change things and to some extent it's worked. But to give the ball away so easily is ridiculous. Especially against a class team, far above us in every department. That said, I sincerely hope that arses and kicked, attitudes are well and truly changed for the Sunderland game. As fans we all know it's as good as a 6 pointer game. Let's hope that HUGHES make the player's KNOW that on Wednesday night.
I thought it was very negative Nope, just an honest and accurate appraisal of where we are at! No passion, no pride and no interest, apart from picking up their fat salary cheques. At least under you know who the football may have been second rate but at least the guys were up for it. Whereas under the other Welsh Wizard......nuffink
Potts, if they don't know that then they can all bugger off in their Ferraris, Porches, Range Rovers. Not fit t'wear shirt
There's the odd few who seem to be fired up and giving their all, such as Shawcross, Bego and a couple of others. Walters, Wilson and Whelan all try, but aren't really good enough. I've been impressed with Assaidi's attitude though, he seems to have a bit of passion about him and looks as though he's pushing himself. Arnie and N'Zonzi are the two worst for lazy performances, despite probably being our best players.
I would suggest that for their goal Bego should have done better. His weight was on his left foot as the shot was struck delaying his movement fractionally to his right. However it was great save from Luiz and his free kick. both given away by Pieters! I do not know but perhaps Whelan was being rested for Wednesday. Arnie is infuriating and he does stand around far too much and whilst he does rarely gets support, he does not support or seldom makes runs off the ball.
I'm feeling a bit frustrated by N'Zonzi in particular. He had a hissy fit in the close season as contract promises had not been honoured and I thought that that explained why his form had dropped off after January of 2013. However, here we are 1 year on. To my knowledge there are no outstanding breakdowns re his contract so why is he still sitting on his thumb.
I am sorry to say, but it was embarrassing to watch, I would feel better watching some local lads, playing for Stoke, in Div 2, than these pampered load of tripe, The Academy we have is a Joke, its just a Health Spa for the first team to enjoy.
Don't be negative now Crazy...it is a very NICE health spa. And just look how many Conference or Division 2 sides have benefited from the output of Clayton Towers. A vanity project if ever there was one...perhaps it was another tax loss
It was awkward yesterday, I think the main thrust must have been defend at all costs and there wasn't enough going forward, it looked like six in defence and four in no mans land heavily outnumbered, unless everyone is putting in 100% you get no where especially against a top four team. Mr Hughes must be trying to find an answer to our defensive frailties using more manpower where as a more balanced team can break and push their players back we seemed to be mostly camped between the halfway line and our box.
Eh JM!!!!! What's that all about then? Far too sensible and analytical for me. Obviously a surrogate Hughes acolyte. Discuss.
