Saints January Transfer Window Thread - Part II

I love how everyone deems Lallana "priceless" in large part because of his loyalty and team spirit... while at the same time begging for Banega the anti-Lallana to replace him.

 

Is that Banega is a saint (and I've got a betting slip on him joing Saints) compared to Osvaldo?

 

Wow, how'd you deduce that. I haven't read anyone saying get Banega in for Lallana. I've seen some people want him in and Osvaldo out, but what do those people know eh?

 

Luke is definitely happy and seems to feel that we are best for him at the moment. I am not resigned to losing him...most is just paper talk. It annoys me when people (yes, you Merson) make sweeping statements as if there is no room for discussion. He will probably eventually leave because most players do...there are few one team players, but I like to think he will have had a good few seasons for us and his move is mutually beneficial to team and player. We will send him on his way when he is a fully formed grown up player and safe to let loose on the world (i.e. lost his love for twitter).

 

Merson is just anti Saints.

 

Rumours on Newsnow that Fat Sam is now after Osvaldo.

 

I think its more that people can't quite understand the enviable position that we are in as a club. They still think of the 'old' Saints. We probably need to win something to wake them up.

 

Even Merson has had to say nice things about us sometimes or he looks even more of an idiot than usual, so digs about Luke is all he has left.

 

Telegraph say United to go to £30m as Saints play hard-ball over Shaw.

Oh and Baines has signed a new deal with Everton.

 

Don't think there is anything in this but if he doesn't play tomorrow we will all start getting very twitchy!

 

This is just one of those stories that write themselves.

1. WHU need a striker.
2. Sam likes big front men (a la Carroll).
3. He must want Rickie Lambert.
4. Can't have him, but Osvaldo out of favour.
5. Sam must want Osvaldo.

Cortese always liked his ounce of flesh, so would have insisted on full whack for Dani. Not sure if the new regime is more pragmatic. Can't see Dani wanting West Ham as it seems to be the PL he dislikes.

 

It seems to be himself he dislikes....

 

May be we could swap Dani for Carroll, they are both usually injured or suspended, cost about the same amount... score one in five games.. and are good dependable professional strikers

 

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the changing room if Ossy does go there…be interesting to see him try and kick off with the likes of Carroll, Nolan, Collins and a few others! Blood bath!!!!!

I actually don't think we'd miss Shaw too much.

Agreed. I personally think Shaw under performed against Yeovil, gave the ball away a bit too much but you cant be great every game.

If we can get 30m for him i would take it now or in the summer. As a stop gap, we have Clyne who can cover and Targett to come through if able.

 

Saints is Wenger's favourite team, he especially loves the the youth players

 

That wouldn't be good enough; we'd need an immediate replacement lined up before we sold.
