Terms agreed with PSG for Cabaye transfer

Its a nice thought but not a realistic one. I think we'll take anything which is 20m plus.

 

Mata is three years younger and better than Cabaye.

Anywhere from 25-30 is fair in the current market for me.

If we are doing well, our players are doing well, if our players are doing well other teams are going to want to buy them. We are not going to be able to stop people showing an interest but I'd sure as hell prefer that than the alternative. I will be upset if cabaye goes but if someone comes in with the asking price and he wants to go then that is that. The club will still be here. Ashley / Pardew / Carr are not stupid. They know if he leaves we will be left with a massive hole to fill. They will be working on it. Despite what some people would like to think Ashley is not on a personal mission to destroy the club.

 

No - he just wants to keep it ticking over providing great, high profile free advertising for Sports Direct. If we can have some moderate success on a shoestring then all the better for him and we'll no doubt continue to try and snap up bargains like Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Sissoko and Gouffran. What is concerning is the reluctance to push the boat out even a little and strengthen the squad when no bargains are available or when we have not sold a player for a massive sum.

 

Correct. However the flip side of that is that he's also not on a mission to improve the club as much as he can and that what gets peoples backs up.

Why should he have to be sold at all football is becoming a farce like everything else it is dictated by money Newcastle have managed to put together a good team and should be allowed to improve on it and move forward but we all know that money dictates that this will never be allowed to happen I cannot help but think that in not too distant future the game of football will be the looser I hope I am wrong just maybe there needs to be some restrictions put in place to prevent this kind of thing happening

those stats would say he's far more important defensively than anything else - or more likely that we keep the ball far better with him in the team.

 

Could also be because he scores a lot of important goals for us. Don't know the stats but there can't be many midfielders with his record of goals/assists this season.

I see Ince is being allowed a loan to the PL to the end of the season. That's another one we should be looking at.

 

I think there was a very realistic looking fake tweet about Ba going back to West Ham last night, judging by this mornings tweets on the subject.

With Torres injured, Ba can't be going anywhere? We should be loaning Tom Ince, given the fact that Obertan is still near the first team. Ince is potentially better than Gouffran.

Cabaye to Man U would be horrible. I don't mind if he's across the channel, but please not playing for them. Thing is it's a player they desperately need and he'd do a great job for them, much more likely to shine there than at PSG.
