Nah, that's changed we can defend without the ball now as well. Flamini has helped but our defence as a unit has finally learnt how to defend and now don't play stupid high lines. Steve Bould has worked his magic in training.
Thankfully, we have a good squad this year, so even our B team will be strong enough to win. Our B team would include the likes of Rosicky, Wilshere, and either Flamini or Arteta, as well as Chamberlain, and potentially one of Cazorla or Podolski.
I know, my main thing is that i think we better when we are not expected to go through, tbf i actually like watching Arsenal and really hope you guys win CL but ill be honest hope you go out the FA cup next round
What's your B-Team defence like? (only area we've got lots of players for ) Just for clarification, I don't expect us to win this game but I'm certainly not thinking we are 100% out
Especially at home, ran out of how many clean sheets we have kept at home this season, one of which was against Liverpool as well.
Our B defence will most likely be: Jenkinson (weak point) Vermaelen Koscielny Monreal Monreal is basically a toss up between him and Gibbs, both are good enough for number 1 spot. Or Wenger may opt to go with Vermaelen and Mertesacker. In our home cup game against Chelsea, our B team defence didn't look very good, and we conceded 2 against Chelsea, whereas when we played them in the league with our main back 5, we were generally good in defence and kept a clean sheet.
your players are about to implode... it'll be interesting rosisky is a very average player all round. cazorla is quality. but you are forgetting completely.. or perhaps failed to notice... how exactly we set up to play you at the emirates in the league.. in sort we set up madly and got punished. If we play a 4-5-1 we can shut off spec and make it very hard for your lot... that should be our aim. when LF play 2 in midfield we may as well have given a walk over... however a walkover would have bee 3-0 so even then arsenal didn't exactly whack us. we played an effective 5-2-3... cisshko was very unfit and totally useless. right now is is only slightly fit but still useless. we played flanagan at right wing back who was also out of his depth. we had gerrard henderson and lucas together for near the first time in weeks after having moses be uselss the weak before. to play 5 at the back against you was their height of stupidity. if we play a genuine 5 in the middle.. .with as i said suarez wide left and stelring wide right we can certainly gain energy in there too. This is of course HOW I WOULD... not how rodgers would line up.
They play Bayern on Wednesday. Its Cty-Barca on the Tuesday. I reckon Cty-Chelsea will be on the Sat and Arse-Pool on the Sunday.
I do not even know where to start with that. Rosicky an average player? No, just no. And funnily enough, I remember Rosicky scoring two stunning goals against you and us knocking you out of the cup a while back at Anfield. He is a class player and one our best. Not sure you have the players to play 4-5-1 and play more defensively. This season it's seems to me that your natural approach is to attack and that's what has got you success this season. Your best midfield is Henderson,Lucas and Allen, but thankfully Gerrard is back fit, and therefore you probably won't play that midfield.
No they're not not. Maybe, they've got a big enough squad to do so. Potentially a win-win (sort of) scenario for us. Beat Arsenal and go through to next stage with our tails well and truly up, lose and focus 100% on top four push. Of course, both would be great, but you can't always get what you want.
Got to say, I thought Rosicky was excellent at the Emirates against us. Of all the teams we've played away this year, arsenal were the standout team. We were atrocious against Hull, Chelsea were good in the first half but are an alehouse team, and City were lucky to get away with their three points. Arsenal were great though. BUT, it's a cup tie, and as long as we go there and attack them I think Studge and Suarez, backed up by hendo, Coutinho and Sterling can score more goals then them. The alternative is trying to defend with those yarddogs (will Sakho be back by then, and Enrique?) and Gerrard trying to play DM without any success.
at the level arsenal want to play at rosicky is nothing but a squad player.. there's nothing wrong with that nor am i saying that he can't put in a show.. but it's like this the one player we loved to play for them was nasri as he was predictable and would run laterally then pass.. easy. walcott has the pace and he is out. thats one worry. really our plain carrpyness at cutting out crosses is the main issue to giroud.. thatts going to hurt us and then frankly its all about arsenal passing it through a back of 4 and a bank of 5... then we can look at our breaks and with a front 3 breaking of suarez, sterling and sturridge we've a chance.
Should be a great cup tie.. With our lack of commitments, we will most likely play a full strength side (injuries and suspension permitting), Arsenal will no doubt be still in the hunt for the league and CL ties to prepare for, so this maybe their 3rd choice/preferred cup and therefore lead to a "lesser" team. However, will still be tough, at home they're pretty strong and we'll need to play alot better than we did against Bournemouth to get any sort of results. You gotta look forward to these games, not fear them... #magicofthecup
arsenal fans should realise this is out of respect for arsenal, not out of thinking we can hammer them. 4-5-1 isn't how lfc set up is it.
