o/t, cross board threads.

Many will remember in days gone by, we were able to have board threads.

Ok they usually, (well always) go tits up in the end, Was just wondering on your thought to see if we could have them back, for match days only.

Got the derby coming up, and it's a bit lame, maybe a cross thread, where we could have a bit of banter, piss taking etc.

What's your thoughts?



If positive, maybe the mods of both Sunderland and Newcastle could put it forward.

I'd love it! Banter is banter and it's much better if we can all freely wind each other up. Why the hell did they stop? If their was too many sensitive souls out there than i would advise them the last place you should be is an internet forum

I tried to get all mods to agree a few months back and all on our side were in full agreement for a derby day cross board thread (a kind of test bed so to speak).
I think most of yours were in agreement except GC Mackem who refused because he didn't like the tags (despite being tasty with some of his own tags at the time) and basically said 'stuff your idea of tags, this will never happen while I'm a mod' or words to that effect. This, if I remember was a round the time he banned JPF, Hacky and me.

For anything like this to be proposed ALL mods need to be in full agreement so unfortunately it is a none started for the above reason.

My personal view is that as long as people understand it could end up rather heated and that the over sensitive souls stay away and the mods 'lightly moderate it' something like a cross board could be a great laugh.

You obviously need a thick skin to participate but that's the nature of the game.

I'd therefore suggest PMing your mods with the request mate as we would have and have had no issue in the creation of a cross board matchday banter thread.

 

Aye maybe's you a right mate, times have changed, mods have changed etc...it's like a ****ing pg version now.

Was ok before, mind myself and Syd would let most things go.

It was only an idea, to get some ****e rolling.

I would love to see this happen. I think we can get a bit too precious on both sides about some of the banter. As long as there is a time and place for it, and what better time and place than derby day, then I'd love to see more cross board banter. Everything is very tame now.

 

Syd was broad minded and was good for the forum.

It's a great idea. Love the banter with most of you lot. Those who can actually take it and engage instead using the universal banter get clause of 'beel' and 'fishin' but they'll be fast swept aside by those who use sentences. Even Albert can comfortably compete if he stopped dumbing himself down for some of his cronies.

 

They'd be welcome Comm but I think some would struggle with the ****e that we both know ended up getting chucked about on them. Plus it was bombed by your own mod as an idea. It would only be a matter of time before they are reporting things. Plus I think they are trying for a more PG look to appeal to a wider audience now. I've noticed more things are picked up as unacceptable now. Basically I think its meant to be a more kid friendly etc. I've been picked up myself for getting into detail about something as simple as an obscure sexual practice (rum cave). Just the way it is.

I'm just chatting on a message board fella. Nothing more and nothing less. It's just the impression I get from the well thought out discussion you brought to our board compared to the dumbed down thick lad routine you carry out on here with posters who are clearly of lower intelligence and wit. Like your friend Hacky here who stormed in and proved my point. You are better than them and you are much more suited to some of the more intelligent posters on your board.

It's just an assessment, there's no motive behind it and it's by no means fact. Just think you're an intelligent fella who's wasted on the company you keep

 

Too true Comm. It was class back in the old days. Some of those threads just spiralled and descended into anarchy. Next to no moderation, and none of this "can a mod look at this he is getting personal". Its all the moaning on I can't bide.
