This alleged £1.5M we're paying Man U for Zaha's services till the end of the season - is that a one off payment full stop, or are we paying his wages as well? Odem's contract being reported to be taken up by Stoke, so that's some committed dosh out of the equation, but what's Jones going to want? Reported £500k for Fabio, but would he want more than Brayford who's gone out on loan? Maybe not given the deals made by Moody and Co. All very interesting, but it's all dwarfed by that £7.5M and £45K a week for Cornelius - makes you think dunnit.
Sparkey, loans are normally up front fee for the players services then plus his salary. The salary part can be split, so Man U will make a contribution of X % then you pay the rest. Think we are paying 1m for the season long loan of De Guzman, plus all his wages.
I thought that might be the case never - it was a bit of "come and comment" type of question to invite some chat mate. I suppose the question is how much are Man U contributing to his wage packet. When we took Bellamy on loan the first time, Tan paid £20k a week toward his reported £80K total wages at Man City. Don't know what Zaha is on, but it must be far less than that, and if we can get a similar 20% proportion of his wages, we'll have a decent deal for the next 3 months or so.
Don't worry Sparkey, JCK will confirm this, Tan has a bottomless pit and will pay for everything. Seriously though, you're right about Cornelius, whatever tinkering OGS does around the edges, Cornelious' fee and wage blows everything else out of the water. And it's for 5 years!!!!
As you say, this most probably weighs up well, in terms of outlay, compared to what it has, and is, costing for Corny. We may now have the firepower to keep us up, but the best laid plans of mice and men etc. We can only watch and wait in the hope Ole has enough to get the points needed.
Bottomless? I don't know, but JCK may have a case for Tan being willing to sink more money into this, it has to be in his best interest that he does all he can to keep us up.
IMHO, Zaha will be a cracking signing, I'd love him to come to us. Fair play to Ole, to use his Man U connections in getting players. What Zaha's wages are at Man U well you can only guess. But as they paid was it something like 15m for his services, he must be on a decent wedge, I bet he's on around anything between 30-40k. Players wages are mind boggling these days.
My guess would be you are probably going 50/50 on his salary but I wouldnt be surprised if he is on about £30k a week at Utd
Hope there's plenty of credit on your plastic jck??? I'm sure you will be able to cover the minimum monthly payments.
£1.5m fee plus wages of say another £1m for Zaha is very reasonable, i would think it would be more than that as there would be other clubs in the league who would take him on loan for 6 months or so.......... jones i would imagine would be on about £40k a week.......... not sure about fabio, i think taylor can do a job there, though in the cold light of day sometimes in this league you have to bring in competition, even if it means a committed player who got us up potentially losing his place.....
