Daniel Sturridge - How good can he become?

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Magic Ted, Jan 26, 2014.

?

How do you see Sturridge progressing?

  1. Early peek, will be a strong squad player.

  2. Good player but will eventually fall away.

  3. Avoid injuries and he'll get even better.

  4. One of the PL's best players

  5. An established name in world football

Great theory <ok> Allow me to pick the obvious holes in it: You can try but it wont make a difference.

    1. No evidence to suggest this will be his peak season. - it is his peak season, would you lik some more evidence. Unless you have the ability to time travel I really doubt you have any other argument.

    2. He's already proved better than just a squad player (10 from 14 for us in the league last season and 11 from 14 this season). I said h will become a squad player, if you have ambitions to be a big club again then thats how it will be. Ask Chelsea, hes not a CL quality striker who will push you on to PL and European glory. If you improve he will be a squad player down the line.

    3. Suarez being here hasn't limited his game time one iota. - Erm.... you have 2 strikers, 2. I doubt that will remain the same.

    4. Many English strikers have had more than one great season. Yeh, hes called Wayne and no, you cant have him.

    5. You're a manc (and a piss poor wum) <doh> <ok>

ReAding UIR's comments is a lot like watching a soap opera in that you can stop for a while, and when you come back its just exactly the same ****e! We don't have a time machine so no, we can't guarantee this wont be his peak season but then again, neither do you have the ability to prove it will be!

Rooney is constantly hot and cold, when he's good he's great when he's poor, he's piss poor...Sturridge, when fit, seems to constantly be a threat. So I wouldn't want Rooney. As for 'pushing us on as a squad player' you're squad players have done that for years!

    Poor, poor wumming UIR!

I dont need to prove jack ****. this is his best season and nothing suggests he will better it. Hes the advantage of playing for a second tier club ( at the time he joined ) with just one unstable chap as a strike partner/rival for position.

If you intend to improve, players like sturridge will be moved aside for actual quality.

f course if you think Sturridge is going to fire you to glory then you do that. I'll be here with the rest of the world laughing. You will probably be crying.

How can you be serious when Sturridge has outscore both RVP and Rooney?

Its playground stuff UIIR, the proof is there

Let me show you this table, again!

Darren Bent once finished the PL top scorer. Adam Johnson once had a hell of a season.... Sturridge is in their category.

To suggest Sturridge will amount to a squad player at best when he's 24, ahead of anyone u think is a top class striker despite injuries bar aguero and Suarez is ****ing laughable

He'd never get a game at Chelsea, United, City, Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern, Dortmund etc...

So yeh, my point stands. Hes not a top class striker, no matter how many times you try and convince yourselves another one of your second rate players is suddenly a world beater because he plays for Liverpool. You have 1 world class player, the rest are nowhere near.

If he is a squad player at best then Danny Welbeck is league 1 standard

Why pick some of the worst strikers around to compare him with? Of course anyone would have him over those **** strikers.

May as well ask who would you rather have up front. Oliver kahn or Daniel Sturridge.

If you don't count Rooney as a striker then yes and if you count Walcott as a striker then I'd say they're about level.
