Afternoon all (well it is in LA). Just got back from Mrs W_Y's favourite place -yes Disneyland! Although it's not blistering hot, a day in a nice warm 77F was really nice. Just getting ready for dinner and then drinks with the wedding party later. I will have to get up early to keep up with the score, hopefully the hotel WiFi will reach the pool!

Quite pleasant here. Newspaper bought and coffee made. Not expecting great things this afternoon but you never know...

Morning all, a grey damp morning started with the baying of the hounds that were in the village with the hunt. Men with their high vis. jackets everywhere, but not a single shot, so guess the wildlife had heard the dogs and disappeared. There is a report in the local paper today of a lady who had a coming together with a large deer and it took an hour and a half for the firemen to cut her out of the car. Deer are still around these parts as shown by the recent foot prints down my fields and every now and then I find that they have stripped the bark off of a young sapling.

The cycle of rural life continues with the arrival of the first circus of the year in the small town where I go for bread. Overnight the bright red and yellow tent was erected, but despite the name Cirque de France it is very small scale with some ponies, lamas and goats. The animals were happily grazing the area around the tent and looked very well cared for. A performance today and tomorrow, then they will be on their way to the next town. There are dozens of small travelling shows in the country, still quite popular entertainment, but the few people working in them must have a hard time of it, constantly on the move and working to erect the tent even when the weather is against them.

I was only pulling your leg - I don' like cricket and my next line would not be 10CC's. In reality I would not try to defend England in any sport - we are just rubbish - I suspect we only won 3 ashes series in a row because the Aussies fielded a ladies team in drag to try to boost our egos. :)

Just sat down to watch Stevenage v Everton and realise BT have brought back that vile pillock Andy Gray to commentate.

Think I'll give it a miss...

Morning all from a bright and sunny LA. Just had a procession past the hotel to celebrate Chinese New Year, absolutely brilliant. Going to nurse my hangover by the pool for a few hours before the wedding.

Enjoy your day w_y. You now know that you can talk freely to all those Yanks about a decent football team. They will probably want to know how we didn't ask for a review about the non-penalty. ;)

Morning all...and what a thoroughly wet one it is.

Shame about the final result yesterday but much that's positive to take away from it. An excellent Burns Night feast with due ceremony and a choice of 4 malt whiskys went some way to making up for it. Taking things slowly this morning...

A thoroughly cold one up here with the white flaky stuff coming down.....

Pellegrini wanted to sub the whole eleven at half time apparently. Pity he couldn't.....

Whenever I see a cleaner in a clean public toilets I always thank them. It is , literally a ****ty job, and few people take note of the worker, as is evidenced by the response to my thanks.
