Well the blue and white hoops stretch further back than I thought, mid 20's in fact. So we've been playing in one hoop or another since 1892, save a curious interlude of all white from '53-'59 (maybe this had something to do with a good England team at the time?).

You got anything similar regarding the crests Sooper?

It's on the same page as the shirts Swords, just scroll down and it gives the dates they were used etc...

Well Butthead, the proof is there in front of you son. That 1953 crest is nothing at all like the subsequent two. The next two were nice, no doubt about it, but they've had their day. The last one we had looks very 80's. Great back then but out of date now.

Our current crest is the nicest looking one in the Football League IMO.

I will echo some of early comments that initial reaction was not good but when looking at the merchandise it grew on me, particularly the one with the red line as reminded me of the old Guiness kit which was probably one of my favourites.
Think having in the word shop is kinda wrong though with it meant it being a Q, yes it may be clever but I'm a stickler for spelling!

If to go this route really would like the qpr in the hoops somewhere even if small.

For the record I quite like the current one

That said what do I know!

been reading this for a couple of days now and I've come to this conclusion.

The badge means something to everyone of our fans and (wishfully thinking) our players.

Sorry Dt, it not my taste but well done for the work you put in.

For me, if we want to be the the "trend setters" and show others that our club means something to us, then lets buck the trend. Lets go back to out old Hammersmith and Fulham badge. Lets go retro.
I have never seen our team in a kit that wore that badge, but to me its different from all others, stands out alone and has a marketing value that cannot be quantified.

Someone posted earlier about al clubd changing thie badge. Im sorry, but i dont remember thi happening very often. When did Burnley, Port Vale, Newcastle or others change their badge last? I must have missed it.

I dont want some promotional gimmick. i want something that is uniquely us and ours. I'll always be a Ranger regardless of where we play and how we do...The badge should be our one constant in my mind.

If we won the CL the badge would sell regardless of what it looked like.
    just my opinion.

The point is that the club should not continuously change the badge but finaly stick to what we have - maybe even the current one though it is still not my favorite one. Change the kit, change the stadium but pls do not mess with the badge any longer.

Newcastle changed their crest in 1988
Burnley changed their crest in 2009
Port Vale changed their crest in 2013

I guess you must of missed it.

I think the only problem with the original Hammersmith & Fulham crest is we will be moving into a different borough in a few years and it's relevance to the club will diminish. We originate from Queen's Park which is not in H & F. My personal favourite is my avatar but I think DT's design will be very apt for a new chapter in our history and, as he says, it's future-proof and it's simplicity means there will be no need for updates or changes...

Interesting that between 1882 and 1975 (103 years) we had 30 different shirts and between '75 and now (just 38 years) we've had 43 variations of the shirt.

Looking at the old logos, I'm not too sure what I see in DT's design of the original crest based on Hammersmith Borough. But that doesn't distract from me liking it, just a comment/question for DT.

It may not be relevant in the future Sooper, but it is still part of heritage as a club and should be considered.

Really good reading feedback thank you and great to also read the understanding of the design solution I decided to go with ...

It of course won't be everyone's cup of tea as the simplicity is intentional although getting the football to look like hoops and the hoops to look like a football took some fiddling

It will be interesting to see how the design is now absorbed over a little time... Does it blend as it designed to do so ... Does it fit with our club ... Our current one certainly doesn't IMO ?
Will new QPR fans accept it without comment? without knowing our past?
We will no longer be F&H IMO exactly why we need to say London

We also have two unique kits and the men acne has to be preserved IMO we must carry our id home and away and compound it

IMO we are Green and white as our 3rd kit but that's just me

Whatever the shade or colour our new badge needs to address that

    We are the hoops

Looked at it all and cherry picked our best years ... Maybe selfish but I needed to work on our strongest elements of identity so our rebirth will capture what and where we are

I doubt if many people in London would know a borough crest but they would all know the Arsenal West ham Spurs and Chelsea badges colours from a mile away I wanted our badge to fight against these and I believe it does what's more it looks like it was done in 1930 to me

    yes and no

Last years thin hoops NEEDED changing....we are back in thick hoops now...praise the Lord

Somethings need changing....and when they do...change them....but leave the good stuff alone

(I do not think the current badge, actually is in the range of "good-stuff", and does need changing...smells too much of goons)

If anything, this thread has proved that you cant please all the people all the time
TF is going to have the same problem but multiplied by 100's...I cant see what he hopes to achieve?
Lots of people like the new badge, so they will be put out, plus others will not like the new design so they will be put out.
Seems to me that only 25- 40% of people will actually be happy with the new design ?

Id also guess that TF already knows what he wants as our new badge, but as a PR exercise he waiting for submissions so he can credit the "fans" with designing the new badge/crest....

We will gain nothing but heartache over this....
