Its just struck me ( Im stealing someone elses thoughts really ) that should UEFA implement FFP as they claim then the team who finishes 5th in the PL could well qualify for the CL.

The reason for this is quite simple, City have of course, failed FFP by a huge distance and on of the punishments for failure is a ban from European football.

I doubt it will happen but it would be quite funny. It would also send a message across europe to other clubs.

yepp thought of that too
meanwhile seem City may meet FFP thanks to UEFA allowing 38m losing and disregard some wages of players signed before june 2010 which take about 80m out of loss, yes they may struggle in season 2014-2015 but according to FFP unofficial site they seem to be short of 11m to qualify and they think they can make a deal that can inject that money bcz it is small

tbh even if they didn't meet FFP, UEFA can still give them a final warning, but still this mean we won't qualify next season if we finished out of top4

Straight to th point.

I agee it wont happen but if Uefa even needed a chance to make a stand and make sure FFP worked as it should, well there is no better way.

ban City..... no other money club steps out o line again, ever.

Its that simple. Save Uefa years and years of hassle, court battles and issues with clubs.

I agree banning one of the big teams that don't fall in line would be the only way to make FFP effective but I don't see it happening. They only ever get really upset when someone pisses of the sponsors, worse than racism that apparently.

I dont know. City/PSG ( basically the same thing now ) are not well liked by the 'big' clubs and not in the way nobody likes Leeds.

Pressure from the likes of United, Bayern, Real and co would have Uefa desperate to show the are on the side of football not money.

Why ban just Man City?

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain, Monaco and about twelve Russian clubs have all failed FFP.

Ban them all, and THAT would send the message across.

Real Madrid & Barcelona?

The rest I suspect you are right but the Spanish giants? Both actually make money dont they?

Although Barcelona may well get banned for other reasons. Dodgy as **** football club.

No.

UEFA want the best teams in their tourney. the Sheik has way too much cash to let that happen and well, UEFA will not want to trade City with their stars for a bunch of has been or never were headless chickens with a ginger manager no one's ever heard of.

What other reasons? The Neymar stuff. No they won't. That's a club thing. Neymar's parents own his rights.

not 100% correct tbh
Platini want to prove a point , he want to change stuffs so it satisfy his ego
and even if you go back to history, you can sure remember how easily UEFA banned all english clubs in late80s-early90s despite they were the clubs that was dominating CL at that time

Both have seen their debt increase by over €200M since 2011, so something very fishy is happening there. :)

15. Doing it to Man City would make the statement they need without it effecting one of the "favoured clubs" too.

Might be something in this.

5th place is a must regardless.

There's no way that they would let a team that finished 5th play in the Champions League. <whistle>

No. It won't happen.

United won't get 5th anyway so will not be affected by this decision... :(
