It was 19 years TO THE DAY that Cantona launched into that Palace fan. Maybe he was just trying to commemorate this!
The legend of Cantona has arisen once more.... I like Cantona, it's just too bad he played for United.
I remember being sat with some mates in Sailmakers, in The Old Town, on this particular Wednesday night, and they had a little TV behind the bar. The News At Ten headlines were being summarised, and although it was too far away to hear it, we could just make out the caption "Cantona fight". I remember saying "Oh what the **** has he done now" and we rushed over to the bar when the news item came on. I'll never forget it. Up there with Diana's death and 9/11
"Ian Abrahams @BroadcastMoose Non-league Goole have told Karl Colley he will never play for them again after he was involved in an altercation with a visiting fan"
What a set of ****s. Pity he didnt twat him why should players have to put up with the **** from morons. A great story from Brian Read of the Daily Mirror... During the 1971 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup semi-final, the ball landed just below where I was standing at the front of the Kop. As Billy Bremner picked it up he was greeted with 25,000 voices singing âWe all hate Leeds and Leeds and Leeds...â plus one teenager next to me, with a boil-riddled face only a blind mother could love, yelling: â... and we really hate you Bremner, ya ginger ****â. To which Bremner bounced the ball off his nose and said: âWell thereâs another reason to hate me. Iâve made you even uglier.â Cue universal laughter as Ugly Boy was silenced. No-one remonstrated with the Leeds captain, screamed for the match officials to send him off, or reported him to the police (even though Leeds won and Bremner scored). There were no debates on Twitter, 10 oâclock news items, leaders written in serious papers or non-sporting commentators fulminating on the evils of todayâs morally bankrupt players. Just a good feeling among those who saw it, that a cocky little runt had got what he deserved for trying to put off a player in a tense semi-final.
the bellend shouting the abuse to the player even started on one of his fellow fans utter ****, the player shouldn't have acted like that though.. but as a part time player, he probably couldn't cope with the pressure
