http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/everton-fc-transfer-news/39071-everton-boss-set-to-raid-former-club.php I know he's been in and out of the team, but there's no way we can let him go. certainly not with the injury problems - and general lack of Englishness in our playing squad.
£3.5 million????? Don't want Leon to go but what sort of replacement would we get for that sort of money? Because of his age, the offer is probably right for Everton. However, it isn't right for us because he's worth far more than that to us.
I think he'd be reluctant to leave after what happened last time. But it is Martinez, so could be different. Be just like old times, with Brendan just down the road as well. And with relegation looking likely he may want to jump ship. Don't even seem able to beat Brum, so not much hope of staying up unless there's a drastic improvement very soon. He'll also have a chance of Champions League football. Will be his one and only chance, so he might just go for it. Most would.
But Huw often can't resist a wad a cash. But I suppose he'd prefer to keep the whole squad and hope we stay up, because that means mega-millions.
Point out the players he has sold in the past that he was happy about selling? Scotland is the last player I can remember being gutted to lose, but went with my best wishes as his age was against him, and it was for Prem football. Other than that sales have been the likes of Allen, who was out of our hands, as they met his release clause. Only criticism I can really remember of Huw was not sorting player contracts out sooner. Instead we had a habit of running them down, as the case was with Pratley and De Vries.
I'm supportive but a realist at the same time. Don't mistake realism for not being supportive. Saying Huw might sell isn't being unsupportive, it's just a fact.
