Hi Dave good to see you back with a bang. I think it's great although your avatar did look a little plain at first but looking at all the other possibilities it is so right and it's a great idea to have alternative colours that in itself is innovative. I would like to see the badge with the red line in it on the home shirt? Also have you thought of putting a very small retro QPR in the middle? By the way really love the use of the Q in our name.
Like many others when I looked at it earlier wasn't impressed but having looked again it is growing on me. Agree with Beth about accentuating the tail of the Q to make it more obvious. Good effort DT.
A similar design has served Reading well. I like the thought that has gone into the varying contexts. please log in to view this image
Welcome back DT. Great job with the design and different concepts. I like it too (though still a fan of the current crest too). The different versions work well and also in the reverse out versions going back to the sans serif works better. The design can be incorporated in many ways as the Q or the O due to the shape too which is more versatile. I'm a big fan that simple is often more, and your design has managed to be both simple and more. The colour themes show just that as well as the expansive circles for marketing. Shows it's working well on the kit bags (not sure about in the centre of the shirt - looks like iron man power cell). Definitely raises the bar and should be right in there for consideration. Well done DT and thanks for the effort and sharing it with us. Let us all know what feedback you get from the club.
I commend you for the simplicity, DT, and agree the blue, red and white version looks best. The name is set too small imo, I'd like a badge to reflect more of our history and personally, I prefer a shield. Arsenal's badge has all that and is the best I've seen.
Great feedback lads And SB has seen yet another new take ... I hadn't It is traditional Mod I have visions of blue parkas now going on I wanted a design that looked like it was made a long time ago but can be used today and going forward The club has the full designs now so it will be very interesting to see where we go ... The current badge IMO is simply dreadful all round and I can understand the need to look at the complete clubs Id I went round because its a football I chose Gill Sans because its London all day long and globally why not be proud we are London The hoops need to be globally ours with a share with Celtic we have to take them ... A crest didn't give me those elements A badge is hard and can be forgotten quickly this simple approach should remind you of a lot but is not the same as anything Can you see addias In red you should see Sheffield Utd or Charlton Many clubs many things should come out from this if I have it right I think I am close no means the final thing but we are in a unique position here with the move and the brand growth ... We will not achieve that with our current badge IMO we need a combination of best years We are also unique that we were acronymed We are QPR and I want us to be very trendy we have to be we need to grow a fan base globally so this design is to capture exactly that at the same time preserve what we are and have been
Couldn't combine the QPR as on scamps it looked overkill to me I want just the symbol to say and mean QPR Hardest thing to do is subtract stuff off the page I am pleased that TF is looking at this but the club have said its at a very early stage ... I know they know that we have to rebrand ... another reason I did things simply the change must be seemless to our current fan base and the new one
Firstly DT..welcome back...me and swordsie been fighting alone without you.. Now The design, i have toadmit that at first glance i dont like it. it seems to bland, plain and unorigional for me. We are afterall a team reknowned for flair and playing style. the blue looks to much like Brighton but the red is better. plusses. i can see where you are coming from with the marketting point of view and totally understand how this could work. its printable on all kinds of merchandise and promotional stuff...my problem is its not distinguishable amongst brighton, reading or chelsea badges. For me, we either go with a design that is unique and represents our heritage and roots, or we go with a generic marketing tool type badge that allows promotional aspects. DT, to me you are great at what you do,but (in my own opinion) this one aint for me. Pls bear in mind, that when Tf chooses the new badge design,he wll have thousands against it aslo... I will say though, i like and understand the thinking behind it..
Good points and yes my design cherry picks our best years and does ignore our entire history Talking about my generation
DT..just constructive criticism from someone who loves your work mate...Great effort though seriously, if that ever did become our club badge..the forum pic would be sorted...!!
Well done Oddball, good work mate. I like the crest and the fact its in different colours shows you were "thinking outside the box" as they say. I disagree with whoever said that wouldn't work for a football Club. I think for the Global market Fernandes says he wants to tap into, its the right move. Nevertheless, I hope they don't chop the current one. Despite it being the Mob that brought it in I think its the best looking crest we've ever had.
I also like the current one; and as I have opined before, let's not forget those supporters that have commissioned tattoos in the last couple of years.
Good effort, 8/10 for me. Like the simplicity: incorporating the hoops effect. Almost too simple perhaps. I'm in a minority anyway as I am used to the current badge and quite like it. Would be disappointed to get the previous badge back as it definitely feels dated to me.
No offence intended to our brethren who get tattooed with our badge but they all know the score that a football teams identity evolves as does their kit and their badge.
