Ole seems to like him judging from what he said on SSN interview, him up front with FC and Zaha and Noone on the wings, could get interesting.
Also taken off CCFC rumours site (for what it's worth): - 24 Jan 2014 11:43:49 Cardiff signings before window shuts Fabio -man utd 500k Jo Inge Bergen -molde 1.2 mill Wilfried zaha - Manchester United loan Ivan Ramos - Wigan 2mill Mirloslav klose - lazio 2.5 mill
With all these changes in personel, it's going to take a while for OGS to blend a team and get people aligned to his way of playing, time we haven't got.
According to WOL he described the three Norwegians as 'ones for the future'. Where have we heard that before?
Saying that, Eikrem looks as if he will get game time early on. Also, 3 for the future for less than one for the future is better odds. We'll probably be paying the 3 in total less than the reported £45k Cornelius is on.
Walesonline reporting we are close to a swap Kenwynne Jones for Odemwingie. Not exactly inspiring. jck
On the contrary, it would be a brilliant move. Odem has been very poor and Jones is a good front runner and can score at this level.
I agree about Odem altho in the last game he was passing the ball, my problem is with Jones who is a very in and out player and rather in the Bothroyd mould. He might find inspiration from Ole which could improve matters. jck
We have other players that can do the job PO can do, but no one who we know can do the same as Jones. He wouldn't be my first choice, but think it might be a good move. Some of Jones' play may rub off on Cornelius. Jones can hold the ball up better than anyone we have today. My main concern is that OGS is fundamentally chaning our approach to the game which could be good in the long term, but we might run out of road before it becomes effective.
For sure any change to style and it's effective implimentation has got to work PDQ. Rock and a hard place - we cannot continue as we were, but will the results of any changes take too much time to gel? One thing's for definite - we're damn sure as hell to find out this next 3 months. Fascinating.
I agree things needed to change, just questioning the extent of the change. Would be happy to fundamentally change things in the summer when there is plent of time to practice these things on the training paddock with a few friendlies pre-season, but wonder if we take a backward step before we take a forward one. Only one way to find out......
Jones on his way here according to this http://www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/transfer-update-1315611.aspx
Just need Zaha to put the ball in the box for him to get on the end of. Same supply from Noone and Whitts and we'll be laughing.
