You know you don't mean that Christian so why pretend, he's financially raped Utd and made Fergie cry not bad for a scally from Crocky laaa.
Is Rooney really worth 300k a week? Don't get me wrong he's a quality player, but if we're having to pay him that much to keep him, then maybe we should just sell and use the money elsewhere. There are better players than Rooney out there that are earning a lot less
I'm the first to admit I'm wrong if he does sign a new contract, I had him down for leaving for the Chavs in Summer as a part of the deal for Mata. That said, you do have to admire Maureen, he has pressurised us into buying Mata and paying a massive salary to Rooney by threatening to buy him himself. He has also nabbed Salah from under LFC's nose and thoroughly pissed off Wenger in the process. Cunning.
Maureen is calculating you I give you that. Whatever his motivation for selling us Mata (good price, United not a threat to him, affecting rivals to the title, doing good by Mata in WC year), United have benefitted. I think ultimately it is very much about a disgruntled big player in the dressing room, with a depreciating asset and letting him compete for a WC place. Rooney going will be a blow but not massive if other big players are recruited this window.
It is the law of supply and demand. Rooney knows he is quality and he drives United whenever he plays. Let us just accept the fact that without him United is not the same team and the players in the team play like headless chickens . He comes close to being irreplaceable in the current set up and he knows that. Now if you were in this position (in any job) and you know that the company cannot let you go if it is to remain competitive, wouldn't you want your fair share? Buying new players carries risks, even worse when the whole thing is unstable as it is now. It could be Veron or a Berbatov you are buying. If United thinks he is not worth 300K to be kept because of financial constraints etc, fine. But if they can afford it and it means keeping the side competitive, why not?
Because they have a talent that few others have and are the biggest assets for the business they work for. Could be worse, they could be bankers.
United have the second lowest wages compared with revenue in the league. So when we pay players who have been here a decade and won everything with us, silly money like this, I dont let it concern me. Rooneys wages pale in comparison with what hes brought united both on the pitch and in the bank.
There is no chance of Moyes selling Rooney to the chavs. If that happens and Rooney takes them to the title, Moyes is history and deservedly so for his total stupidity.
If he agrees this deal then he really has been having your pants down over the years. Handing in transfer requests to suck money from a club is about as low it can get in terms of respecting the fans.
No, he handed in a request whilst you were champions. If he signs a new deal it was pretty clear why.
