Are you f**king serious? The club is making hundreds of millions profit, with very little regular outlay: the proverbial cash cow. However the f**king grabbing Glazers have piled massive loans on the club and the interest repayments have been crippling and on top they regular take millions for "consultancy". This is like Roman A and the Sheiks in reverse... The money has always been there. It is just that it has been and is still going into some f**king yank pockets... They are now worried as they can see "their" business dropping in value.
Atletico Madrid were also interested in Mata. Not entirely sure how us signing Mata can be turned into a dig that nobody else wanted him. Nobody else wanted Ronaldo when we signed him and I'm pretty sure nobody has bid for Messi. only 1 club made any real effot for Suarez last summer, and they took the piss doing it. Just saying.... Also, Matt, he signed for Manchester United not Moyes.
AS and Marca were running with a story. Mata not playing + world cup year = potential return to Spain. Also Chelseas link with Costa made the story seem plausible.
