I don't think Mata decided to come to Man Utd because Moyes is the Manager. I'm sure the fact that it was Manchester United, and that alone carries a lot of weight.

 

Perhaps it was the only offer on the table too? I'm sure he'd rather play for anyone than sit on Chelsea's bench and potentially miss out on a World Cup place.

 

And you could see his relationship with JM was strained, wont be the first or last player to have this with this manager

That too is a possibility, but Man Utd gets Global recognition and despite our league position this season we're still a heavy hitter in the PL and in Europe. He'd have a much better chance getting in the Spain squad playing well at United than he would at a team like Everton, Swansea etc. just because of the club he's at. I'm sure money was also a motivating factor.
