    Mata wanted to leave and stay in the premier league.

    Hardly attracting him when united were the only big club to bid for him.

    I don't think Mata decided to come to Man Utd because Moyes is the Manager. I'm sure the fact that it was Manchester United, and that alone carries a lot of weight.

  5. Perhaps it was the only offer on the table too? I'm sure he'd rather play for anyone than sit on Chelsea's bench and potentially miss out on a World Cup place.

    That too is a possibility, but Man Utd gets Global recognition and despite our league position this season we're still a heavy hitter in the PL and in Europe. He'd have a much better chance getting in the Spain squad playing well at United than he would at a team like Everton, Swansea etc. just because of the club he's at. I'm sure money was also a motivating factor.

    Not that it matters, I was really just disagreeing with Mathh's op.
