An odd signing Salah, who do they drop? seemed fairly settled atm, and Mata was surplus as an AM....so they replace him??, someone there is going to get frozen out.

Liverpool wanted him...so chelsea had to have him...they'll then loan him out to pool next season so he can't play against them...soon they'll own most players in most squads

With all this talk of Chelsea signing players just to screw over their rivals, I'm surprised Chelsea aren't planning a bid for mata!

Would Chelsea have sold us Mata? We spent 65 million on Soldado, Lamela and Chadli but we could have instead bid 40 million for Mata in the summer.

Although if that happened Avb may still be here and that's a disturbing thought :)

Never. We won't go business with Chelsea for the foreseeable future, IMO.

We finished 5 pts in front of them in 2012. And 3 pts behind in 2013.
They see us as a rival for their CL slot now.

Neither of them fly to St Petersburg, so Levy's kinda stuck with the airfare for that one.

It was indeed Hulk he was talking about. Having told everyone he had big news that would guarantee us 4th, suggesting Hulk was a big disappointment!

The same guy is also suggesting we're interested in Filipe Luis of Atletico and Armero of Napoli. - the latter being part of a deal for Capoue.

A few more rumours emerging with regards to Bernard too.

Most stuff on social media is bullshit, we all know that. But the "big" january deals are just not us. Berbatov coming back could be likely I'd say, due to the cost and the move makes sense to a certain extent. But when do we ever spend big in a January?

I read that Salah is the first chelsea deal of what could be a few signings in this window for them. IMO, it's more likely that Hulk is in England to speak to them, not us.

He was signed with one of these co-ownership deals , pretty sure it was a 50% stake which means the club they purchased him from (Sassuolo) retain 50% of the fee, so its going to take a big bid to sign him, as there are two clubs to satisfy.

He seems to be a name branded about everywhere, from us to Chelsea, to Utd, basically anyone looking for a striker (or with an Italian employee at the club).

But after seeing Lamela and Jovetic struggle over here, the two best young talents in Italy last year, not to mention we already have an expensive striker struggling, It will take the view its a non starter and the press linking us with any Italian based player possibly available due to Baldini.

At the very least, he'd have a lot less baggage than the last Italian striker we were linked with (and, to my knowledge, has never punched Lamela in the face)

Bit harsh on Jovetic. He's got 2 goals in 5 appearances and has been injured most the season

The striker suspended by saints for a training ground incident? So him and Lamela aren't meeting between games to help each other settle!

Nothing wrong with being harsh! I'm not convinced by these injuries and think partly due to him not settling in the country. Maybe he doesn't like the nightlife!
