Quite an interesting read actually. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/25859320 Some of the abuse some people receive is just ridiculous. The joke is, 99% of these people would never say things like this to their face, but feel they can do/say whatever they like when they're sat behind a keyboard. It's a tough one, because it's all well and good reporting these to the police, but I imagine there are SO many abusive tweets going round, how would they police have time to deal with them all? I don't think "just ignore it" is a good suggestion either. Firstly, it's easier said than done, and secondly, why should they have to ignore it? Surely any accounts reported for abuse should just be looked in to, and blocked accordingly?
Twitter has a blocking feature. Just use that. I don't think that cyber bullying is a massive issue. There are plenty of measures you can take to avoid it. Block and report
A woman beating dogging pervert gets everything he gets. In comparison to giving a woman a slap a few sticks and stones via social media is pretty trivial. He should grow a pair or stay away from FB and twatter.
AKCJ Its no big deal to people like us as you probably only get the odd few knobheads sending you abuse Stan Collymore is getting thousands of idiots. He would be there all day blocking them and all they do is create a new account Then the The Scum (the Sun) have attacked Collymore 2 days in a row with their front page Something does need to be done but I cant see how you can do it
I'm sure it must be so difficult for him, with the amount he earns and all. He could employ someone to filter his tweets if he's that bothered. EDIT; Plus, he's not getting thousands. He's only getting more than other celebrities because he's winging about it rather than having a bit of common sense and nipping it in the bud.
Well no, but he has the right to have a twitter account. Whereas he doesn't have the right to be told that someone will come round his house and burn him and his family while they sleep. Just absolutely disgusting behaviour tbh.
What he earns is irrelevant, no ones deserves loads of abuse for purely stating their opinion. Twitter is full of idiots where if anyone says anything against their team or a player from their team they find the need to defend them to the extreme Threatening someone with violence or even death is rightfully a criminal offence. Racial abuse aswell crosses the line and people have done time for it. Stan Collymore uses twitter to help with his job and he like everyone else has as much right as anyone to use it
Im not defending the utmost appalling behavior on Twitter, especially seeming he just said Suarez dived, but you haveto be fairly thick skinned anywhere on the internet these days. always reminds me of this picture please log in to view this image
come on then Stan the world is watching you so why not get pissed and set a fire extinguisher off? oh sorry youve done that already
