  1. Sell or Loan in out him ASAP

  3. Keep & see if Pochettino can get the best out of him

  4. Don't know

Should Les Reed and the rest of the transfer committee need to explain this too? Nicola?

I just think it's self-explanatory, and I also think that Poch will answer as much as he feels necessary (whilst not detracting from future sale) at some point in the next press conference he holds.

Why does he have to give answers? What should be answered is "Have we learned anything from this?"

You might think I'm splitting hairs but one of them is about the alterable future and the other is about the unalterable past. My experience is that talking about the past is of no benefit whatsoever and is always just a whine.

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, stop worrying about the past. I stopped several years ago and I've never been happier.

Where exactly should I budge to from my position of wanting to hear from Pochettino about this? And why should I? That's a reasonable thing to hope for isn't it?

If he says something like that I would be very surprised if there weren't more questions.

I wouldn't object if Reed or Cortese felt the need to explain it, but Pochettino as the manager is the public face of the club, and he is the one who has to answer questions in press conferences.

You missed my point PTF, but don't worry about. I am bowing out now. I have posted all my replies on egg shells as it is, for fear of offending you with a mis-placed tone or word.

What's the obsession with digging over the past rather than looking ot the future? Would you prefer MP to be indulging in a post-mortem of a decision made several months ago or would you prefer him to be doing things to affect how we perform in the future?

To look to the future you need closure on the issues of the present. I think a post-mortem of this mistake would benefit future decisions, for what it's worth, though I'm really only interested in hearing what he has to say about it.

Yes I know, you keep saying so for some reason. And I keep saying you don't have to. Just don't call my character into question (for example, by repeatedly implying I'm oversensitive) and we'll get along just fine.

If you were pulled away from a sales rep, a week later kicked one of your clients, then after being punished butted a colleague, would you still expect to have a job??
Chances are you would be fired and be in a cell!

The nipper is an absolute liability and doesn't deserve to be on the same ground as the rest of the squad.
I couldn't care less if he was as good as Messi, he would have to be if he stayed as i'm sure everyone else would bugg*r off!

The bickering on here is bit like Oz and Jose getting too close and personal, have we not learned that it isn't the answer? Some good reasoned stuff and a very good poll, says it all. Leave the final decision to Poch and support that to the full.

No, I didn't say that, I was answering the "what's the point of looking to the past?" question more generally.

I'm very happy to leave the decision to him, seeing as he knows all the facts and none of us does. But I would not be able to fully support that decision without some idea of how it was reached, which is I suppose the crux of my argument.

"Closure"? That's just putting a different word to explain that you want explanations. I ask again, why?

You do not need "closure" on something like this. That takes time that MP could be using (1) to make sure something like this is avoided in the future (2) to improve something in another area that will improve our performance.

The thing you're asking for is what is wrong with the management of almost every single company I have ever worked for. It's one of the major reasons why I run my own business.

"Why did you do that?" is the most corrosive question you can ask. "What did you learn from that?" is the most freeing and allows you to make progress.

Do you give this speech to every customer who asks you why you ****ed up? <laugh>

I think judging by the exasperated reactions of some others, I've explained my position enough times. Pick through what I've already said and if you don't find an answer to your question I can only apologise.

Yes I do, as it happens. I tell them that rather than worry about what happened, this is what we've done to make sure it won't happen again. They seem to respond well to that. Odd. I have lots and lots of happy customers despite the odd complaint handled in this way.

So, there are a range of responses MP could give to your question "explain why you signed Dani". The extremes are: "We're all perfectly happy with what we did; there is nothing at all to say about it" to "We messed up totally in every respect and we're useless". There may be more extreme answers but they look to me to be either end of the spectrum - let's not quibble about that point. Would you be happy after you heard either of those answers (or something inbetween)? Think about it, which answer would make you happy?

None? You know why? Because they wouldn't address what actually matters, which is "what will you do differently in future?"

Anyway, I suspect you're unpersuadable so I'll leave it.
