In fairness Sky has been against it the entire time - as have a few others, and a fair few on Twitter. Surprised with the wealth and pull Chelsea have that they're taking the risk on Salah - Liverpool have to take such risks but Chelsea don't.
I suppose so... but aren't you reportedly paying up to £16m for Salah anyway? He's worth £10m max IMO.
Yep, but only for 5 mins as a sub. Also saw him last time round at Chelsea, very so,so. Much better at his last club, hope he can step up in the PL. He is no Iniesta though, and is not the man to run the show, which is what we need. Will be a great replacement for Lampard/Essien, so is a very good buy.
Ya Ya would be fine if you can get him. He absolutely controls the midfield at City. Matic is very similar and maybe even as good one day. Would like to see Matic and Luiz pair up, Luiz can certainly open up defences with his passing. With a decent Striker running on, could be interesting. Then again, Piazon would be a very worthwhile choice, no Iniesta yet, but has the same qualities.
Have you actually watched Salah play? he has looked really good in Europe against top teams from all leagues.
Yeh 4 times, as you say, against teams from a top league - Chelsea and Spurs. However, there's a big difference between playing well in a handful of games which his team would have been highly motivated for, and doing it every weekend in the PL. He's a gamble... But still one I would've taken at Liverpool.
He is well worth the price quoted, he has done it against more than Spurs and Chelsea and with better players around him could be a star. Then again, ready made stars have come to the prem and failed, Veron and Shevshenko to name but two.
Some have even moved from one prem team to another for a large fee and flopped; Carroll & Torres. Nothing is certain. I'm with Yoda here though. We need a CM and if we don't sign one then this window is a failure no matter who else we might get!
