Not condescending at all and nothing to do with personal preference of football. I bet if you asked a any pundit / journalist / fan from outside of England to name world class players of this century not one of the ones I just questioned would get a single mention.

"I prefer English players". So you've not enjoyed watching Koren, Brady, Mcshane, Mcgregor, Geovanni, Big Jan, Bo, Elmo etc, etc. You mustve been devastated at our two recent record signings. I feel for you.

Does I prefer English players = I hate hull City players? No. I'd say geo and koren were continental type of players, we're any of the others you mentioned? No.

To be fair Maldini is arguably one of the greatest defenders ever. And definitely the greatest left back of all time.
