Osvaldo is nuts. If any Italian clubs want him, they're welcome to him.

    Bad egg, Ding him out.
No coincidence, its the Jan window and big clubs are supposedly after him back in Italy. He is just trying to push a deal along (PURE GUESS).

The Southampton way does not need Dani Osvaldo.

Alternative - he gets sent to anger management which helps transform his life. He's massively grateful to Southampton FC for doing this, and standing by him. A reformed and determined individual, he goes on to be our top scorer for the next 5 seasons, taking us into Europe.

    Still want to sell him?

All I will add is I would like to hear what set Osvaldo off. It is likely that Fonte has either said something or made a bad challenge on Osvaldo. If Fonte has done nothing wrong then Osvaldo has lost it completely.

This is almost as fanciful as a Brazzers storyline

Not necessarily. I know plenty of people that have had far worse problems and been successfully rehabilitated.

Far worse problems than being paid millions a year to fanny about on a football pitch (when you can be bothered)? I don't believe it! :)

If this was Roy of the Rovers does Fantasy Island that would be a good plot, instead it is Southampton FC in a bit of bother, needing a hothead rocking the boat, like a hole in the head. Last chance saloon, if he wants to make up and come good, fine by me, but does he himself want to stay?

He has acted like an idiot, but he can still be a good player for us. Suarez is a twat and was **** in his first season and look at him now.

I think we should give him another chance and not get on his back. If Fonte is willing to forgive him and move on, then as fans we need to respect that and carry on backing him.

with that said, if he touches my Jose again, I'll track him down myself. I'd fancy my chances against the little weasel tbh :D

Well yes, that's kind of what I'm saying. It's up to him and his team mates. People saying SELL now - well it's a wee bit early for that IMHO.

Fair point, but money has very little influence on a personality disorder.

Think about the life of a professional footballer in realistic terms.

They are plucked out of normal life at about seven, given years of directed coaching watching pretty much every friend they make being cast to the side for not being good enough. Then they turn pro and at an age where I was just leaving home for university and going barking mad on £60 a week, they get a king's ransom paid to them. They take on a lifestyle of drinking Cristal champagne and getting any woman they even glance at. They spend their days adored by thousands of people and their nights being photographed. If they step an inch out of line they are headline news. They get shipped to new cultures a world away from friends, family and support networks and if their form drops off of they suffer serious injury they end up as a semi-pro at Buxton Rovers.

Frankly, I'm astounded that any of them turn out even slightly normal.

And on a factual level CBT can make huge changes to people's behaviour. My S-i-L is a probation officer and they change thugs from peolpe who glass for a wrong word into people who can cope with life.

And if that's all too caring for you, the economics of the knee-jerk "get rid" reaction are strongly negative. It does nothing to solve your biggest asset's problem and you waste something you've spent a lot of money on without trying to repair it.

    Vin

Anyone got any photos of Fonte? What sort of state he's in, I've seen people saying there was blood everywhere and was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries, and I've seen he was just punched.

    Thanks

Vin, I don't disagree with any of that, but you're not going to get me to feel sorry for him!

Well Peach (who was bigging the story up) said it wasn't the "bloodbath" people are saying.

No wonder Roma wanted rid of him so much.

I can those Roma officials now, all grinning, thinking how nice it is to see their old problem is now someone elses.. oh and because they're £15 million up!
