If you're bored at work like me, have a go at this quiz, it's all the players to have played for England since 2000, by god there are some utterly utterly horrendous players on this list......a few of them playing for Man U at the moment.....yes Chris Smalling i'm talking about YOU!

I'm only shocked and appalled that I wasn't capped given some of the names.

Though I was named in training squad by Kevin Keegan.

And some people still think we've got plenty of world class players. Ive said it before and I'll say it again - the only English players this century who have been world class are Ashley Cole and Paul Scholes. The best england team I have ever since in my lifetime was at Le Tournoi under Hoddle.

Ricketts or Zat Knight. But then there's Martin Kelly, Ant Gardner, Matt Jarvis...

Seven current and former city players I count.

Owen was the best player in the world in 2001, winning the Ballon D'or, seeing off the likes of Raul, Zidane, Henry, Totti, Figo, Rivaldo, etc. Nedved, Scholes and Veira didn't even receive a single vote.

Our team now is fairly poor but in 2002 we were quite rightly one of the favoured sides. Brasil, France, Italy and ourselves had the 4 best squads in the world at the time.

I got 12 and then got bored. It was hard enough trying to forget some of them, let alone trying to remember them a decade afterwards.

There is no way in hell he was the best player in 2001 despite winning the Ballon D'Or. Ronaldo and Zidane were by far the best players in the world back then.

To be fair rosey, Nedved did win the Ballon D'Or in 2003. Nedved was ****ing class.

Think you've misunderstood what I'm saying.

I think Ronaldo, Zidane and Nedved are all better than Owen. My point was that we've had some very good players. And the players themselves voted Owen the best in the world in 2001 for a reason, even if you or I don't necessarily agree, which proves we've had some excellent players besides Cole & Scholes.

Clearly you have a different view from bummers and others (including me) of what constitutes world-class.

World class suggests they would get into a World XI or perhaps being the best 5 in a position at the time. I'm not sure Adams or Campbell would constitute world class but Owen at his peak then definitely.

Beckham would but not sure Rooney would qualify as I would pick several others ahead of him.

100% agree. Just cos he won a voting scheme doesn't mean he's the best player.

Are you having a laugh? Adams? Seaman? Campbell? AND ROONEY!?!? Never in a million years were any of them anywhere near world class, particularly not the latter. He's the most overrated player in British football history. when has he ever looked good on an international stage for club or country? He's at his peak now and when everyone is fit he cant even get a slot as a first choice striker in his club side.
