Green has been excellent for us this season. He has this reputation for dropping clangers but I can't recall him making any significant errors for QPR (touch wood). If you take the question in isolation, Cesar might be the better goalkeeper but in the second half of last season he didn't seem to give a fig about QPR. Green is a good honest pro and is one of the best goalkeepers in English football. We're lucky to have him.
Strange how such a really top class Brazilian #1 keeper, cant find a club interested in taking him ??? Still strange why Inter let the really top class Brazilian #1 keeper go in the first place ?? And why Hughes was the only manager to take him ?? Absolutely Green !!
I can't blame you for having blocked last season out of your brain Rodders but he made plenty of significant errors for us last year, as did Cesar. Thankfully though he's been top notch this year. Found his level perhaps?
Best keeper - Cesar Number 1 choice - Green You have to question Cesars' hunger for the game now, as he's only had 90 minutes of football this season, and that's not enough in a World Cup year. He's obviously pricing himself out of any potential move with his huge wage demands, and whilst I recognise that it was the club that gave him the contract, surely he wants to get out on the field of play to sharpen his reactions for when the tournament begins. Anyone know who the Brazil second/third choice keepers are and whether they are any good? I remember that the ex-Spuds keeper Gomez was Brazilian but he was shocking!
Cesar is a great shot stopper but never liked him. He is poor at dealing with crosses but biggest reason of all is his amateur kicking It constantly put us under pressure. He cant kick it passed the half way line. Which meant opposition would move centre back’s 20 yards further forward and if they won the header we were bang in trouble with the ball in our final third from a goal kick. He can get away with it playing for Brazil and in Italy where he can roll it our to the defenders and build from the back but in England it’s so much of an issue that I would honestly rather Green
I challenge any poster on this board to go to any other board "on the planet' and convince the other teams suporters that Green is better than Cesar...! Never heard anything so ridiculous..how many medals does he need to get to prove he's better than a 2nd best ( because kasper is better0 league 2 keeper.. this is hillarious and such fun watching people make fools of themselves.... i'll bet anybody a free night out in london that Green NEVER achieves what Cesar has in his entire career.... Shows what thore rose tinted glasses do and how biased QPR fans are towards thier own team...have w learnt no humility?!!
"He can get away with it playing in Brasil or Italy"?..really? how stupid is that...2 countries that have won the World cup more times than our s**e team have eve made the semis.... What a stupid statement...I normally respect yourposts PD, no matter how diffrent, but that just embarrases you. D+ must try a sh*t load harder.
Why the hostility Queenslander just because others may have a different opinion than you? You do yourself no favours.....
Obviously Cesar, and the club's story about him doesn't make sense. I can see him being out of the squad during the last window, in the hope that he would be going, and then not getting back in the first team because Green has been very solid (he's good enough for us, but that wasn't the question). But not even on the bench? Strange....could it be he's on appearance money as well as his massive wedge, or a big bonus after xx appearances and we are just trying to save cash? If thats the case fine, just be honest about it. I rate them both a bit higher than Paddy Kenny.
Think I've read somewhere that their second and third choice keepers both has had crap seasons. Probably why Cesar is still in with a shout of making the world cup.
No hostility mate, just a complete joke. PD and others know what i mean and how much i mean it. if you dont like it then please dont comment. its not aimed at you. You do yourself no favour either by trying to sanitise this post. If it offends you then "i appolgise". For those who honestly believe that garbage, then thier is no appology, unless they can justify it to me...and thats what i have posted. I credit Green with what he has done, but this is the same keeper that the same people were slating 16 monthas ang as a player we should never have signed...at the same time Cesar was player of the season...... uif thier is any hostility, its aimed at those who cant keep thiero wn faiths and believe what suits them...the weak if you may !!
PS..For the record, Im fully behind Green. Have not said a bad word against him this season regardless of his ability
I think there's an inherent problem in the question. Indeed I'd be interested to find out if the OP knew exactly what he was doing, knowing full well that such a loaded or ambiguous question - I can't decide which it is - was inevitably going to lead to scuffles breaking out between blokes (and Betty) answering two different questions. The problem with it is that this is a QPR Board and generally, people are only concerned with how a player performs for QPR, not what he's done prior to his arrival or post departure. For example, if someone was to ask last season who's a better player, Granero or Mackie, you'd also get a mixed response, not because people disagree with their attributes, more they're commenting solely on their performances for QPR. We signed Granero from Real Madrid and Mackie from Plymuff Argyle. Who is really more likely to be the "better" player? Its obviously Granero. But who was the better player in the only arena it mattered, IE for Queens Park Rangers? I would say most people would have plumped for the, ahem, "Scotsman". Kiwi, you're a wily old fox. I think you knew exactly what you was doing when you opened this poll
look at England's shocking keepers and green can't even make the squad. those Brazil keepers must have had total shockers to have a worse season than hart.
I would have thought that 'who is the best keeper' is pretty unambiguous. People voting for Green seem do be doing so because they don't like Cesar due to his perceived greed.
Cesar is more acrobatic but does he have better management of the goal area than Green? In that respect I would say Green is better. If only we could combine the two.
exactly, if we had a taarabt v Hoilett thread then some would vote for Hoilett simply because they couldnt vote for taarabt.
