Liam Moore is in discussions over a new deal
Paul Konchesky is close to signing a new deal
    Lloyd Dyers talks has stalled
AC Milans interest in Kasper Schmeichel appears to be rubbish

Im surprised about Konch. Miles too expensive to keep in this league and not good enough for the prem

I suspect that any contract we are now offfering to Konch will be on much reduced terms .. and he is unlikely to get anything better elsewhere tbf - so may suit both parties - can't see him being first choice LB should we get to the Prem..

<laugh>. ... i can't quite get the comments about the AC Milan runour to equate to 'rubbish' ... but it is nevertheless some relief ...

I'm not that surprise by Konch. We have a very young squad and a few 'older' heads will be vital IF we go up. Konch has invaluable experience at the top level and even if he no longer has the physical attributes to compete in the PL his experience and know how will surely help the rest of the squad and any newcomers coming in to that position. Would make sense for him to stay on and try and get as much 'game' time as possible IMHO

Wagewise yes, but no doubt he could walk into 95% of Championship clubs and be a regular starter.

Am not surprised either - he has been decent for the past couple of seasons and experience is valuable.

Will be on a year contract as that is standard for over 30s now - a thing that Lloyd Dyer's agent needs to recognise.

Could be a regular starter in a Premier League team - he could still do the job, albeit with some help from the left midfielder but will be the case whoever plays there.

Konch will be a worthwhile back up in the PL.

I can´t wait to see how strong we are as a squad IF we ever do go up. With all the average players we have now & this spending restriction thing (which I don´t understand) it will be interesting. I just hope we don´t go up & not have a squad good enough to compete & turn out to be an embarrassment.

He may well stay and that would clearly be on reduced terms. I just wish Schlupp would see this as an opportunity to gain some experience from an old pro. Having spent some time at Man U I hope he had a yarn to Evra to see what he achieved after moving back into the left back spot.

Konchesky knows the PL, he's one of the only ones in our squad who can claim that- Nugent and Schmeichel can claim a handful of appearances, and whilst we have a lot of players that I think may be able to make the step up (Drinkwater, Moore, Knockaert, even Vardy), none of them can claim the experience Konchesky has. He's been poor recently but he does seem to go through a run of bad form occasionally, and hey, it's hardly hindered us.

Can't quite believe we'd only offer Dyer a year- I know he's getting on a bit but he's really earned a decent contract, and even if he might not quite cut it in the PL (on current form I doubt it) he'd still be a good impact sub- pace is invaluable. I think we should be pleased a player wants to end his career with us. I do hope we get this sorted out soon- it's the only flaw in an otherwise damn good season.
