don't agree. we are in 4th but spurs are level and everton are one point off. thats not "ours to lose" thats a big fight

utd are now in this deal 6 point soff and a big signing... plus look at the form book.

sorry but i don't agree and the form book doesn't agree either.

    http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/form-guide.html

reality check on LFC. utd 2 points better on form after worst january in prem history... 6 points gap is nothing and like it or no a front 3 of mata rooney and rvp is very good.

they will be right back in contention especially when the lose in the champions league and only have a league to play in ;)

    not really.

they could have bought a forward anyway but in reality they've strengthened a direct rival and weakened their own squad (even if mourinho doesn't like him) I'll not be shocked to see mourinho scowling by end of next season.

queue hopefully late psg big bid ;)

  6. What if they're actually taking FFP seriously? They sold De Bruyne before buying Mtic too <yikes>

if they are they are the only ones ;)

city and utd will take no notice.

spurs didn't need to due to special circumstance.

  9. If you're saying Man Utd are not taking it seriously then you have to say Arsenal too. I think they both spend within their means.

well now i'd dispute writing arsenal down. thats a separate topic altogether bound up with wenger's attitude. their fans go mental each and every year. come the end of february they'll be asking why again.

UTd's book balancing is quite another matter and is an other major topic about debts and all sorts.

hell look at southampton's spending and i wonder if it were continued would it comply.

I contend clubs don't really care about it and find ways on balance sheets to make it work without impacting spending.

I do not believe chelsea in their wisdom are sitting back and letting mata join utd "cos they need the money" i'll predict right now it will affect cheslea's chances of trophies adversely going forward. utd will rival them on something.

  11. I don't disagree, just trying to apply some kind of logic to Chelsea selling Mata to a rival

As I said earlier MITO, far too simple a conclusion. As usual though we'll have to wait and see

I'll stand by it but... thaqt front 3 is as good as what we could field if they get it out on the field in the next month meaning they are in the mix. they can after all supplement with <laugh> welbeck.. and the pittle injured celebrating pea...

as statements of intent go its an interesting one so i would not write utd off from anything bar the champions league and catching city now.

People keep talking about this mythical front 3 of Mata, RVP and Rooney.

Well RVP and Rooney have showed **** all interest in playing for Moyes so far so realistically it's Mata, Welbeck and Januzaj.

It's all well and good having a laugh, taking the P out of an old famous rival like Utd but it's true, Mata will improve them greatly and they have RVP and honey monster's wrong twin to come back, plus they could end up buying a player like Cabaye as well. The strikers will need to hit the ground running so no time to play into form which is added pressure and the knew signings will have to bed in quickly but I can't see that being a problem for Mata as he's quality, a pro with a top attitude and desperate to play. As hilarious as it would be to see them finish 7th or 8th I can see them coming back into the mix for top four. That doesn't solve their other shortcomings and lack of quality in all areas of the pitch, but as we LFC fans know from recent times, a few key men around averageness can make a massive difference.

    excuse moi?

look at what rooney did prior to injury... i think he saved moyes job! he was in quite good form actually.

RVP was badly badly handled by moyes. it was tantamount to shooting oneself in the foot. maybe he won't be right for the rest of the year but then again.. he could be.

this for me is like questioning the merits of SAS. oh saurez is out who will score... oh suarez is back sturridge is f'd. the one key undeniable point even for the most LFC biased fan is the quality of the three players.

    3 absolute top players.

RVP is not injured, he is refusing to play because Moyes, in his desperation for a win, played him longer than the medical team advised him to.

Rooney was playing well but has since ****ed off on holiday rather than deal with being associated with Moyes' sinking ship. He's running down his contract to grab as much money as he can when he jumps ship.

top players but then they will just starting getting 4 or 5-0 results like we did, doesn't help them the other end though same as us in still vulnerable and lose silly points from games.

    RVP is not injured.....

    ok.....

    got sauce for that?

I mean i don't mind any attitude towards a rival team but i find it hard to even give it credence.
