Today it is announced that United are now only the fourth biggest club in the world in terms of share value. The f**king greedy Gs got what they deserved. Years of underinvestment with Fergie squeezing the last drops from his trusted old players have come home to roost.

Buying Mata if it is the only big signing is utterly pointless. This team is so **** without RVP and Rooney that we need at least 3 to 4 world class players to drag us back to competing at the top. Last night showed that without RVP/rooney, we are just totally toothless and play like headless chickens. Well done Sunderland. Fully deserved <ok>

These are the expenditures for the top clubs since 2003 to 2012 (do not even include the massive 2013 expenditure by the top clubs like City and Chelsea!):

Chelsea, £673 million — 12 trophies — 3 Premier League titles (2o05, 2006, 2010), 1 Champions League (2012), 4 FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012), 2 League Cups (2005, 2007) and 2 Community Shields (2005, 2009).

Manchester City, £572 million — 3 trophies— 1 Premier League title (2012), 1 FA Cup (2011) and 1 Community Shield (2012).

Deluded Scousers, £414 million — 6 trophies— 1 Champions League (2005), 1 UEFA Super Cup (2005), 1 FA Cup (2006), 2 League Cups (2003, 2012) and 1 Community Shield (2006).

Manchester United, £352 million — 16 trophies — 5 Premier League titles (2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011), 1 Champions League (2008), 1 FA Cup (2004), 3 League Cups (2006, 2009, 2010), 5 Community Shields (2003, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011) and 1 FIFA Club World Cup (2008).

Tottenham Hotspur, £350 million — 1 trophy— 1 League Cup (2008).

Arsenal, £214 million — 4 trophies — 1 Premier League title (2004), 2 FA Cups (2003, 2005) and 1 Community Shield (2004).

So a shortfall of at least 200 millions compared to Chelsea and City. Where did that money go? servcing the loans, ultimately going into the pockets of the glazers.

Will the greedy Gs be prepared to make up that gap? we will have to see but it is only now that we are seing the effects of the yank opportunists seizing the club.

It looks like the fat yanks will have to start to spend or it will end up in tears for them.

Where did it go?

We simply cannot spend the crazy amounts of other sides. Liverpool nearly ****ed it trying to compete woth Chelsea and city.

Take the toy clubs out of it and you get us behind liverpool having spent the second most. The mata signing will have us level. Effectively we are the leagues biggest spenders.

Sure they could spend more. I suspect they will. Theyve already spent a **** load in the past 18 months.

The Deloitte list is based on turnover not on share value. The list that shows a club's value is produced by Forbes

Good of them to that <doh>. It was the clubs money they spent. In the space of a few years they acquired a billion dollar+ worth of business without spending a dollar of their own...

But has it really been the greedy Gs?
There has never seemed to be any complaint from Ferguson as to the money available to him and you don't seem to have lost any transfer "wars" for players you were in for. Indeed you even beat City when you didn't want them to have Berbatov.
Also, it didn't seem as though you're lack of transfer success this past Summer was due to lack of funds but more due to Managerial/Adminesterial/Scouting inefficiency. I mean, anyone willing to spend 27M on Fellaini cannot be accused of not willing to spend money!!!!

Mo, I think this was more Ferguson wanting to recruit young and preferably English talent which he thought would be more sustainable and succesful going forward. It cannot be levelled at the Gs that Ferguson so mismanaged his midfield for more than 5 years, and it can only be classed as mismanaged as it's now obvious that nobody could have or can do the same with this shower as Ferguson could.

The greedy Gs are also very astute Businessmen and will be well aware that a prerequisite for financial success in football is success on the pitch, they have made some fantastic business decisions in getting United for virtually no cost to themselves, employed some great Managers at all levels, it seems they're one major mistake so far was to trust Ferguson on his way out and support him in the recruitment of Moyes.

I think that you labelling them greedy is more to the point that you dont like them from what you see and hear in the media and that you feel that they got your club on the cheap - which they did, but is/was that their fault?
So far - there is no evidence that they have not backed your Manager(s) with all their requests.

Are they actually fat? Or is this just a stereo type you wish to use to make your World OK?

Why will it end in tears for them? - What will they have lost if United even lose a further 50% of their share price?

They did actually put some of their own money in. Enough to buy the rest of the PL basically.

With them owning united, its effectively their money tge club spends. Its in their interest to keep spending as well.

That is the crux isn't it? - In your heads you dislike them because you feel that that could have been you. That they acquired the magnificent Manchester United for nothing. Well, it doesn't quite work out like that but admittedly they have been incredibly astute in this Business deal.
Should they not have been and payed more when they didn't need to? Do you ask to pay more for your groceries when you know full well that someone along the Supply chain must be hurting at the low prices you are paying? No - thought not.

That is the part i didn't like about fergie. He supported them to the hilt (I suppose they did him in return) but I had the impression he went out of his way to save the greedy Gs money. Why didn't he invest in the midfield players in the last 2-3 years when it was obvious to every one that even though he could compete in the league, it was not good enough in the CL?

But that's the thing again and I agree with you but then how can we work this one out? - and I'm not a Utd fan but have eyes and love football -

For 170 mins in the 2 games against Madrid last season you were by far and away the better of the 2 sides and thoroughly deserved to go through.

The answer can only be his ****ing genius as a manager. He used his resources to the best effect and won trophies when the players he had were not the very best. Last season was the best example. Who in the ****ing world could have walked the league with these players ?

The deluded scousers are having a good year to be fair. But where it will end up remians to be seen. They said they are title challengers (according to Tikitaka) now they are more likely to compete for 4th (for the less deluded ones). Next year will be their (and our) year..<laugh>

And therfore why I think the resentment to the Gs (And I'm not a fan of theirs in anyway) is very harsh. It goes back to the need we have in society of looks and profiles being the most important - I think there can be no dispute that they are not the best looking family.
However judging them on their tenure so far, I would be much happier if I were a United fan having them then the irrepresible rogue that is JP McManus.
