FA Cup 4th round Sat 25th Jan 3pm

    Officials: Referee Philip Dowd
Assistant Referees Stuart Burt & John Flynn
    Fourth Official David Phillips

OK so Saturday brings us a golden chance of a place in the 5th round of the FA cup as we take on Yeovil who are struggling in the Championship. Yeovils squad will include our old boy Sam Hoskins who has made 14 appearances for the Glovers this season. Yeovil travel on the back of a morale boosting 2-0 win away to Birmingham last week so this will be no gimme!

Saints are without Dejan and Gaston but hopefully Saturday will see the return of Wanyama to our squad although I think he's only likely to start on the bench. I'm hoping MP goes for a strong side but we have to remember we have a tough match against Arsenal in only three days time.

    My suggested team

    Boruc

    Chambers Fonte Yoshida Shaw

    Cork Davis

    JWP Reed Adam

    Rickie

Subs KD Clyne Jos Victor Jrod Guly Gallagher

Yes I know I've left Morgan out but it was him or Rickie and I think Morgan deserves a rest!

Let's hope for a home win and a good draw in the next round as we roll on to Wembley.

    COYR!

Like the suggested team but if Vic is fit I would start him over Davis and take him off when he tires as would like him to get as much game time as possible prior to next Tuesdays game against Arsenal

Ha Ha. Did you change the nil in the score from an 'o' to a zero also???? That was the funniest one.

Sam Hoskins is injured, had a groin op a week or so ago now. Shame really.

Sad for him although he's not exactly set the Championship alight. Reeves is doing much better albeit at a slightly lower level.

I'd really like to see Sam Gallagher get a longer run out in this game. Maybe go to 4-4-2 second half if (IF) we are well ahead and take off Lallana?

Getting stoked for this one, I shall be making my way down from Somerset trying to avoid green stripy folk along the way.

This won't bbe easy. Yeovil have nothing to lose and 3k plus fans to do proud. Agree with Chilco we need to see Gallagher but need a lead first. Plus Dani will need match practice.

    Davis
    Clyne Jos Fonte Shaw
    Morgan Cork
    JWP Guly Lallana
    Dani

Impact Subs: Gazza Chambers Yoshida Wanyama Reed Gallagher Rodriguez

Gives Lambert and Davis a rest - we'll need them with fresh legs for Tuesday

I would not be risking the likes of Shaw for this game. I imagine Yeovil will adopt a physical approach customary of a struggling Championship and as the original poster reminded us, we have a match against Arsenal three days later. I would 100% play Fox who has looked out of depth in the Premiership but was solid in the Championship against the likes of this.

    Davis
    Chambers
    Hooiveld
    Yoshida
    Fox
    JWP
    Cork
    Davis
    Lallana
    Osvaldo
    Guly

Should win this at a canter.

Not sure why people are suggesting both Yoshida and Hooiveld together, I would rather see whichever partnership is going to be playing against Arsenal, so they can get some continuity going. For me, I'd rather Yoshida and Fonte play. Start with Osvaldo, and give Wanyama as much game time as possible without over-doing it. Give Gallagher a good run out at some point as well, maybe alongside Osvaldo.

Agree with this. Jos is a great guy but Arsenal are likely to tear him to shreds. Maya and Fonte for me.

Have amended the team to take account of the news re Dani. Leaves us very light up front. Let's pray for no more knocks.

With Dani having been suspended for being a t**t, this leaves the door open for Sam to start and to make a statement about his future!

Yes maybe start with Sam and have Rickie as back up? With Arsenal on Tuesday and then away to Fulham we need all our remaining strikers fit.
