A big word, but although I'm in the minority I wouldn't mind seeing you get a win tonight.

A man after my own own heart. Newcastle are my second team. Sad to see the general consensus that I'm seeing on this thread but I guess I should have expected it.

Mackems going out with a whimper, only a speculative borini shot to show for their efforts so far.

A whimper? You watching the game, or are your binoculars B&W tinted? They've had two chances so far...

The use of the word hatred is often overly used - by fans of both teams.
For me its a rivalry borne out of history between two proud cities and their communities.
We want to be better than Sunderland and likewise Sunderland want to be better than Newcastle.
A healthy rivalry as I see it.

Personally I don't hate Sunderland, I may take the p*** at times, but, that's not hatred.
As far as tonight goes, I have to be clear that I absolutely do not want Sunderland to win.

I know a few Sunderland fans and I can tell you, not one has ever wanted Newcastle to win a raffle, never mind a trophy.
That's just the way it is - rivalry not hatred.

Besides as far as this match goes, as far as I'm concerned, its better for us if Man U get to the final and it may give us a better chance of qualifying for Europe.

They've scored, hit the post and Mannone saved right after they hit the post. So that's three off the top of my head...can only remember borini for you boys with any effort of note.

All right, 3. What about Brown's header that was only just cleared? Was only going about three yards wide....

Bit torn but overall I'd actually like Sunderland to go through. They've got many fans who have supported them through thick and thin (and some very thin) in a way that most fans don't. They surely deserve a bit of success more than the likes of whinging Man Utd fans who have been pretty annoying this season as they really don't know they're born.

So as it stands, Man U would go through on away goals, but after Extra Time?

To be fair Man U have been just as whimpering. The quality is appalling. Sunderland look better with the ball in general but Kagawa or Januzaj are the class acts. Sunderland far from out of it as this is a poor Man U side in transition. Very very boring game though as both look toothless and lack inspiration in the last third.

Could see the mackems nicking something from a dead ball or if they can find some quality from Johnson or Ki.

Man U are getting deep. They just lack any confidence at present. When would you have seen a Man U defence so timidly sit like this in the last 10 years? Its simply a question of Sunderland finding a bit of quality.

Borini is proper filth. Canny little player though.

Gotta get Hernandez off, he couldn't trap a bag of cement so far

I've always thought Borini was a waste of space.
But to be fair, in recent games he's started to look as though he could be handful at times.
