Discussion in 'Newcastle United' started by 5 Goals 1 Hat Trick 11 Heroes-NUFC4LIFE, Jun 15, 2011.

?

Is the Nolan deal good business or madness?

  1. It is a discrace

  2. I'm very disappointed, but worse things could happen

  3. Its seems not bad business, due to Nolan Attributes

  4. Its a good deal!

    Exactly.

But whats to say Nolan and Barton arent these same dickheads who are just after the $$$ and long contracts.

I like Joey - he's a fantastic player. But people seem to forget that he **** all over us for a couple of seasons with his off field behaviour and the club stood right by him through it all. He should think himself lucky he is even still playing football let alone with an EPL club. And he turns his nose up at what, for someone in his position, is probably a lucrative contract. I'll probs get stick for saying this, but if thats the case he can jog on.

We rejected a derisory bid of 3m so why would we now sell him for 1.5m?

Fee is believed to be around the 5m mark.

If I were cynical I'd think he is using Twitter to get himself pushed rather than him having to jump...

People keep forgetting we've got Gosling to come back too so Gosling and Ben Arfa and Cabaye all coming into contention in an already overcrowded midfield with Shane Ferguson showing fantastic promise and Lua Lua (although his future is up in the air)

How many of you have actually stopped to think, Nolan had a say so in this as well!!!!!

Just cause he didn't like the T&C of the contract offered him he still could have seen his 2 years left on his contract out!!!

Yes he'll be a big miss as a person and a player, but that's what everyone thought when Andy Cole went (if haalf of you can remember him) yet we still pushed on and got into Europe.

One player doesn't make a squad and think JB should keep things to himself as well!! That's probably why he hasn't been given a new contract

The club have backed Barton after he went to ****ing prison. The best he can do is shut the **** up with these comments on Twitter. Seriously, no player is bigger than the club. You don't have to be pleased that Nolan leaves but, just move on. You're a professional footballer.

Got a text from the NUFC text website, it's normally 100% right as it waits for completely accurate news to be clarified.

    Exactly.

It's JUNE for **** sake. 80 odd days until the window closes? I'll panic if come August 31st we've lost our opening 3 games and signed nobody. Until then i'll keep faith in the club.

Barton wants to keep his mouth shut and his thoughts to himself. He should remember he's still in our debt by quite some degree after the way we stood by him when he was literally on the scrapheap.

His performances last season have only started to repay the faith Newcastle United showed in him, if that's his attitude then he can bugger off.

People need to stop letting themselves be swayed by their own pre-existing hatred for Ashley and being riled up by Barton. Sit back and look at the whole picture, not that we can because we only know about a tiny part of it. Remember when Barton set up his twitter and why when reading his tweets, he also casually continued to post pictures of himself in his fancy suit before deciding to be angry and suggesting certain players were out next.

Have to agree about Barton. That last tweet is just a bit stupid. Don't like having players who think they are bigger than the club. I like Nolan and Barton....but if its time for a clear out its obvious they would be first up. Oldest and most expensive.

Wonder if Barton thinks everybody is so dumb to believe that Nolan had absolutely no say in this at all. He still has 2 seasons on his contract, he is hardly being 'forced' out. I agree with Cal when he told us all to remember that interview where Nolan said he was here to help the club go places until he wasn't good enough for the first team anymore, he's probably seen the new signing and the interest elsewhere and come to that conclusion himself.
