No cheers from me. Its only the smaller bookies that will have been stung and it discourages the innovative bookies from pricing up races early. Its not one for the punter its just one up on the bookies for one individual who lets face it is a cheat!
Correct me if Im wrong but the last time this happened did the bookies refuse to pay either to Barney or to all punters? Im sure Barney was refused, if you takes the bet you should pay!
most of your winners are similar horses tho stick, tailed off on purpose to get marks down then smashed up at big odds the night before, and right up till the race when they are the real deal just happens to be 4 on the same day
If I had 4 horses with enough ability to win bad races on a rainy Wednesday - two of which run on a track that's only there to make money for bookies - then I'd be focusing all my efforts into landing a gamble like this.
I don't see what all the fuss is about, horse racing is bent as **** and always has been. Most trainers are fiddling bastards and do what they can to make the most money out of their horses
I must say that even with the Barney Curley horses aside this has been one hell of a day for bookie bashing. The last two at Kempton have been backed all day as well and if the jolly wins the last at Kempton it will top off a terrible day for them. I don't think the one in the last is a curley horse but is 11-10 after 800 days absence.
I did wonder if anyone would pick up on that MoG lol. its a bit different being an amateur plot spotter to whats gone on today
Did anyone see that last race at Kempton? I backed The Wonga Coup and had the race on live commentary on racing post app it said 'The Wonga Coup, never in the race - one to watch'. Can anybody give me a clue as to how it ran or if it would be worth looking out for next time please?
Anyone punting on the midweek drivel we regularly see knows full well its as crooked as heck. I never touch it for that reason, I like to at least know my losers aren't trying to lose! Punters betting on some of that midweek all weather stuff aren't far off being Barney Curley wannabes hoping to spot an 'early gamble'! Regardless of the rights or wrongs of it that's a bit of a master stroke he's landed, with goodness knows how much planning went into it. To get 4 horses in 4 races on the same day was probably tough enough, never mind the 4 winning! The crooked git
I agree with this... I just dont see the point in betting midweek and in particular the all weather - some of that is just a complete joke! Weekend punting for me - that's difficult enough but at least in my mind the majority of horses in the big races/Grade 1 races on a Saturday are actually out there to win!
best value is always during the week or sunday in ireland, saturday as ive always said, is a bookies benefit
sat racing more competitive--so agree with M o G --better Value to be had other times.....its finding them thats the harder task--truffle hunting...
