You'll hate yourself forever if you buy a bedsit.

Buy a kilo of smack. By the time you're through that you'll still end up with a bedsit <ok>

Get in wi the junkies, Beale.

When you live in these areas, if you manage to get out their idyllic grasp, you'll look back on those days with a rosy gaze.

I can still remember, when I stayed in such areas, waking up in the morning with my car covered in blood after a stab-fest, or how the junkie across the road was trying to sell his wee sisters school bag, or how you'd get an invite to the shoplifters house to buy some knocked off gear, or the eccie parties at 2am with weans running about the veranda whilst "Lasgo" was belting out across the street.

    Magical times

Moved out when I was 19 and bought a house for 100k with a 5% deposit (Good old Northern Rock), didn't have much choice as I had a sprog. Every **** told me I was nuts borrowing 95k... then they all went and took out 200k mortgages in the following years.

Rented for ten years 'cos you always think you're going home soon!I knew lads in the '80s bought places with partners, relationships ended and keys handed into estate agents letterboxes.I could never get me head around half a house and sharing the garden, back in Dublin with full house and all me own garden but negative equity rife in Ireland at the moment.
