    From The Post;

    " Michel Vorm

After having surgery on a meniscus tear in his knee, Vorm is closing on in a return to action. He had looked good for Spurs at one stage, but is now more likely to make his comeback at Birmingham. The Dutchman has kept seven clean sheets in 17 games this season.

    Garry Monk

The 34-year old club captain was initially expected to be out for around six weeks with a knee injury sustained in October, and had surgery soon after. However, Laudrup hinted last month that Monk, who has only featured once in 2013-14, may be unable to return to first-team contention.

    Dwight Tiendalli

The full-back missed the Premier League defeat to Manchester United last Saturday after picking up a minor hamstring injury, but is hoping to return to full fitness in time for the home clash with Tottenham this coming Sunday.

    Jose Cañas

Cañas became the latest addition to the club’s ever-growing absentee list when he went off after 17 minutes of last Saturday evening’s defeat to Manchester United. Laudrup's early estimate was that Canas could be out for anywhere between two and six weeks, and as yet Swansea have said nothing more about the extent of his problem.

    Jonathan de Guzman

The midfielder picked up a calf injury in the FA Cup third-round win over Manchester United on 5 January and missed the repeat fixture in the Premier League. The problem is not serious, and he is due back in full training next week.

    Nathan Dyer

Dyer was taken off in the draw at Norwich City in mid-December with a suspected broken ankle. However the winger’s injury was confirmed as ankle ligament damage following a scan, and he may yet complete a rapid recovery by featuring against Spurs.

    Roland Lamah

Lamah last featured for the Swans on New Year’s Day, missing both clashes with Manchester United after suffering a groin strain in training. However, the winger is poised to make a welcome return against Tottenham.

    Pablo Hernandez

The Spaniard was substituted early on in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City on New Year’s Day with a hamstring injury. He is back on the training ground and may return at Birmingham.

    Michu

Last season's top scorer has not featured since the draw with Norwich on 15 December, and there were fears that his ankle injury could rule him out for several months. However, after surgery it was revealed over Christmas that an absence of around six weeks was more likely, and he will be hoping to return by early February. "

Wow, not as bad as I thought. Can't believe Dyer could be back so soon, good news. Shame about Cañas.

Great news on the injury front really thought dyer would be out for the season,we really have missed his direct running which creates space for opportunities for other players.Daiswan idont think your reasoning is correct and the reason being teams have worked out how we play. They allow us to a certain degree to keep possession because like you say they know our main threat is Bony

    Taken from 'Vital Swansea'

" Jonjo Shelvey picked up a hamstring injury during Sunday's defeat against Spurs as Swansea's injury troubles just keep getting worse.

Michael Laudrup has been forced to put defender Jordi Amat into midfield after losing the likes of Nathan Dyer, Jonathan de Guzman, Michu, Pablo Hernandez and Jose Canas all to injury.

Swansea's squad is getting severely low in numbers and are struggling for results in the league, having not won in the last 8.

The likes of de Guzman, Dyer, Hernandez and Vorm could all return over the next week or so, but they can't all be expected to instantly return and make a significant impact after recent injuries and lack of training.

Shelvey will be a big loss for the Swans as they're lacking attacking players in midfield - or midfielders full stop. The England under-21 international could be out for two weeks or more.

Laudrup will be hoping that one or two can return to action for the next League game - a must win home game against fellow strugglers Fulham."

What the hell are going to do for the Birmingham game? Our Under-21's didn't exactly cover themselves in glory against Cardiff last night...but I wouldn't want to risk ANY first 11 players with the way things have been going.

That's exactly what I would do! U21 squad. We don't have time for a cup run. I wanna see a reserves squad out there. Vasquez, Donnelly, Richards, etc.

What we need on Saturday is Monk and Chico in the centre, they will be our defensive brick wall. <whistle>

So you pick out the only player out of 9 who doesn't feature in our first XI (although he has proved useful in cup games and defensive injury crisises).
    Why?
    What is your point?

If you can't add anything pertinent or engage in a discussion on my thread I would stick to posting anti-Swans ****e if I were you Plastic Phil.

Yeah, that was the point of this thread and my posting of the article from the Post above.
    That was sarcasm Phillip.

Either contribute to the discussion on the thread or take your stirring elsewhere.
