Exactly what I have been saying in another thread, Smith, Hunt, Wootton, Murphy, Zakliukas all signed ahead of two wingers, that team on Saturday was Warnocks team plus two loan signings
May be warnock was right all along. He said we were two signings away from a promotion team. Board should have listened to him
Will also be glad to see the back of him. Maybe a proper investor who actually has money might come forward
Neither, you need a squad in football. You need to be able to replace every player on the pitch with someone who can do just as well for at least a couple games in a row, rotation is key and you have to be confident in the rotation of the squad and the players coming in and out. Every player's place in that team is based on form, if Brown drops out of form then another midfielder comes in, Varney had a fairly decent game but we know he can't do it every game so as soon as he drops form Smith can come in and so on. We had none of that under Warnock as manager, we relied heavily on the Varney's of our squad to perform, he can do it every now and again and we have seen it but on the whole he is rather crap. And then take into account the type of players that McD has signed, younger players all with the potential to keep improving and hopefully some with the ability to step up to the prem as well so we gradually create a core group of players. There is also the way we use these players as well, McD's tactics are quite different to Warnock's and imo. more effective (although we aren't seeing the results now, I'm certain we will). We need to stop dwelling on the who bought which players that are in the matchday squad, there are so many factors. I think Warnock wasted a considerable amount more money than McD has done. not there yet Well there 3 points behind us Evening glory, hows it going?
Eire, you're in serious danger of blowing a gasket if you carry on, you've been spitting feathers for weeks. I suggest a bit of R&R is in order, get into Mullingar and have a few pints of vitamin G. All is not lost.
Well, he wasn't, because we aren't, but Warnock couldn't get them to play, BMc did ..... last Saturday anyway. lets see if he can keep it up
Josh the question for the manager would be why did you sign players in positions we already have competition for and why did you not bring in the two wide players we needed when we all knew that was the position we were crying out for last January not alone the summer. Fact is we were better this time last year in regards to league position and wins http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/246661-We-Were-Better-This-Time-Last-Year?p=5955496#post5955496
Not sure I agree that BMD has actually wasted any money yet. Hunt hasn't yet shown what he can do in a more attacking formation. So let's hold off ruling him out completely. Even Varney showed a few good touches and contributions last weekend.
Cant help the way I feel. Anyone that knows me personally knows I say things as I see them. Comes with age Davy
