What's the schedule for the meetings with the FA over the name change? When will they be making a decision? Anyone know what the procedure is?
Ehab has been down to see them with the club's submission already. I think CTWD are down there on Friday giving their submission. The OSC have been asked as well, and I think they have Thursday as the deadline for receiving the responses to their survey so I expect they're meeting the FA next week (unless they're planning to verify and count them all on Thursday night and are submitting at the same time as CTWD). Not sure who else other than the Council (who've already declined to participate) have been asked to make a submission. I would expect the FA to wait at least a week after the last submission before making their decision. At least publically, after hearing from both sides they might make a decision either way this weekend and then just be looking for anything surprising (ie new) from the other submissions being made later. (This thread purely for dates and comments as to who has been asked to submit please. I think those details are relevent to both sides and casual observers)
I thought it was written submission by CTWD by end of week and personal meeting next month. Humberside reported tonight that FA have no set date for decision so this will rumble on for another 2-3 months yet. Expect shirt crest next season to have just the Tiger on with no name as orders need to be made soon, so I've been told.
Weren't we promised consultation on the new badge? I wouldn't be surprised if we just got what we're given and told to like it or lump it.
ideally the decision is made asap, if it goes in favour of cwtd - then obviously the fa disagreed with allam's vision for the future (and those in favour/not bothered about the name change will accept the decision) , if it goes in favour of allam let us hope that the campaign group also accepts the decision - as unless they boycott matches there is not much they can do until a new owner (which maybe decades) takes over
Perhaps a good marketing ploy would be to have some limited edition ones with a smiling picture of AA on instead of the tiger. Not sure how many would be needed to make them exclusive but I'm sure there's one or two on here that would be queuing overnight for them.
Our written submission goes in on Friday, our personal hearing is early Feb, as is the OSC's. Submissions are being made by the club, CTWD, OSC, HCSS, Tigers Co-op, HCC, FSF, SD, various supporters trusts and possibly others that I'm not aware of. No date has been set for the FA vote yet, but we don't expect any decision until March at the earliest, more likely April. The new badge had a first week December deadline, so we may well get a tiger with no text.
OLM , I am interested in your comment that it may not be april until the decision is made. I think every poster will accept that the FA can be rather slow when deciding on matters (anelka being a prime recent example) but surely on a matter on this scale - throwing heritage and tradition in the bin as some claim, surely the FA would want to resolve the matter more quickly than usual to show their authority over the game?
If the FA reject the application, then we'll approach AA with our ideas for increasing revenue at the club. If the FA accept the application, then the campaign continues.
Or perhaps we have a normal shirt, with the normal badge on, but do like Getafe did, and when they team score, they do a "ravenelli" and have AA's face on the underneath, like so:
The FA Council have to vote on it and that requires it to be voted on at a full FA meeting and one hasn't even been arranged yet( it's about 100 people).
They'll also want to be seen to be giving the matter serious consideration which pushes towards them taking their time. With the badge, what was the deadline for? We haven't announced a kit supplier or sponsor yet, so I can't see it being a merchandising thing. If it is some secret kit deal has been done, there's nothing to stop it being produced with no badge and then have it sent off later to be added. We did that with a sponsor a few years ago because I was going to try and get hold of one before it was sent for sponsor printing but then forgot all about it.
The new kit supplier has already been appointed, lead times are 4-5 months and the badge has to be applied on the panels before the shirt is made(the sponsor can be added later as it's printed, unlike the badge which is stitched).
Is there still such a thing as the Tigers Co-op? I thought there was a merge with CTWD. Effectively a rebrand of the Co-op. Don't tell me there's some splitters carrying on the name!
There was definitely the intention to merge. It's probably an issue of working out the details before it can actually happen. For example I don't see how you could just merge the Co-op membership into CTWD. Given the purpose of CTWD, if you did that you'd be assuming Co-op members were all against the name change. You could however merge the other way without making the same assumptions.
Cheers for clearing that up Ricardo. My other thought was that all adult members of the Co-op bought a share or shares, the the money from which was paid into some sort of trust fund. The pupose of which was to buy shares in City. The CTWD members not already in the Co-op would surely be expected to buy a share. Otherwise they'd be second class members.
Just to be clear, I'm not necessarily clearing it up, it's just my theory. I'm not a member of either group so I don't know what's happening, it just doesn't seem likely that merging them would be something that could be done overnight. As well as working out what members of the combined group get compared to members of the individual groups you also need to account for people who have joined both.
